With ten teams left in the NCAA Tournament there are at least 2 with ties to Kentucky High Schools. 

Xavier's Adam Kunkel took Cooper to the Sweet 16. 

Kansas State's Markquis Nowell was once a Cordia Lion. 

Any others still playing? Also, there have to be others who saw minutes in this year's Big Dance before being eliminated.

NKU almost upset #1 seed Houston last week. 8 of their 16 players played high school basketball in Kentucky.

Did Nowell start varsity at Cordia his 7th grade year? I’m guessing probably a little too young at that time.

Not sure if he started any games. Did play minutes at the varsity level. If I’m not mistaken, Rod Rhodes was coaching at the time.

He played in 18 games and averaged 5.5 points per game in the 2012-2013 season as a 7th grader.
