The College Basketball Invitational will tip off March 18, and it will be a single-elimination tournament until two teams are left standing. Those teams will play a best-of-3 championship series in a home-away-home format beginning March 31.

No. Especially if this one takes a back seat to the NIT. After taking 65 in the NCAA and 32 in the NIT, that will leave only teams outside the top 97 left to pick from. This will be pointless to watch.

I find it hard to believe the NCAA (and most notably CBS) will let this stuff go on very long after the cash they paid for the right to the NCAA tournament....

65 is enough teams for the big dance, the NIT field might even have too many teams (I think 16 is enough), and I defintely do not agree with this new tournament...

I love postseason basketball...I love tournaments. IMO, the more college basketball being played, i dont care who it is, the better.
