Lex Cath @ Ryle Updates - 8/20/21
#1
Lex Cath doing what they do on offense so far, but Ryle just put a solid drive together, score  Lex Cath 10 - Ryle 7 halfway through second quarter.

Lex Cath with a 50 yard plus TD Pass, Ryle's pass defense can not stop them......Lex Cath 17 - Ryle 7 late in the second Qtr.

Ryle scores on a semi busted play, Lex Cath 17 - Ryle 14 with about 1 minutes to go. BTW its raining lightly.

Halftime Lex Cath 17 - Ryle 14.

Final Lex Cath 24 - Ryle 14

Couple of thoughts:
Lex Cath did everything in its power to lose this game.
Lex Cath ran the ball about 25-30 times and passed maybe 15 times.
On offense, Ryle has some good skill guys and a very good RB.
On defense, Ryle's back 7 are very good tacklers and had some big hits on LC receivers.
In the 2nd half, Ryle moved the ball between the 30's but would put itself behind the chains and end up having to turn the ball over on downs.

The Game:
Ryle scored 2 touchdowns on 35+ pass plays in which Catholic had multiple players tip the ball and it ultimately landed in the hands of a Ryle receiver who then scampered in for a touchdown.

On its initial drive, Catholic had 1st and goal from 2, then got hit with a 10 yd holding penalty. On 3rd down Catholic threw an interception with the defender ending up in the end zone but the ball was marked on the 2 yd line.

4th qtr, Ryle punts the ball down inside the Catholic 5 as the Ryle players are circling the ball and about to down it on about the 3 yd line, a player from Catholic runs in out of nowhere and tries to scoop it up and run but was tackled immediately. Catholic was fortunate it did not end up in a turnover.

Catholic tried to onside kick, 2x. Th 1st attempt occurred on the opening kick off, a player from Catholic had a clean chance at recovering the ball but it bounced past him and rolled out of bounds. The 2nd attempt was well defended by Ryle and had no chance of being successful.

Both teams tried to quick kick on 4th down with horrible results and both offenses were called for offsides 4-5 times. Seemed that in all cases the center had twitched but not snapped the ball.

Ryle had a chance to win the game in the end after it had driven the ball inside the Catholic 20 with about 2 minutes left, but ended up turning the ball over on downs.
