"Do We Hate Our Political Adversaries More Than We Love Our Country... " ?
#1
Liz Cheney's opening remarks today included, what I thought, was several poignant questions directed at each and every American .

"America is great because we preserve our democratic institutions at all cost.  Until January 6th, we were proof positive for the world-that a nation conceived in liberty could long endure. But now January 6th  threatens our most sacred legacy.  The question for every one of us who serves in congress ; for every elected official across this great nation ; indeed, for every American is this:  Will we adhere to the rule of law?  Will we respect the rulings of our courts?  Will we preserve the peaceful transition of power?  Or will we be so blinded by partisanship that we throw away the miracle of America?  Do we hate our poltical adversaries more than we love our country and revere our constitution?

Hoot, TRT, Jet --- do you hate your political adversaries more than you love your country?  What about the rest of BGR readers? What is more important--the hate you feel for your poltical opposites or the respect you have for the Constitution?

Liz closed with this foreboding :  "Our children are watching. "    Hoot, that means your kids and grandkids.  Same for you ,TRT and Jet , and everyone out there who hears Liz' words---your kids are watching !

I would love to her at least a few folks make a public profession of courage and honor and make a simple statement condemning the actions of the criminals on Jan. 6. Even if you are a Trump supporter, let's hear you at least condemn the violence on 1/6 and say there is no place for that in our democracy.  Come forward and call for the arrest of all of those violent seditionists who tried to do away with our beloved democracy. Something tells me that all we will hear from the readers of this forum is "crickets. "  This is Kentucky, by the way.

Adam Kinzinger - Wikipedia
I
find it hard to believe any person who has served in the military still backs the King after January 6th but no doubt their are some but the Herd is getting smaller'

TRT how about your King what part of the armed serviced was he in by the way ?

I don't hate people for their political opinions but I do hate the lies that you and your three fellow socialists/communists/atheists post in this forum on a daily basis. You are not the type of people who would ever be welcome in my home - not because of your political views - but because you are disgustingly dishonest people who attack the institutions and traditions that have made this country great for over years on a regular basis. OTOH, I would welcome (or would have welcomed) an opportunity to discuss politics with Alan Dershowitz, Walter Mondale, Christopher Hitchens, or Jimmy Carter because I consider them mostly honest, patriotic Americans who hold or held very different political opinions from my own. They were or are everything that you are not.
