Maybe one of our members here can help me to understand what happened yesterday in regards to the security at the Capitol building. How was that allowed to happen?  They had to know something was going to happen. Trump and his minions had been telling us it was going to be "wild" on Jan. 6 .  How were these thugs , these insurgents, these domestic terrorists allowed to break windows, enter the Capitol, Congressional offices, the Senate floor, and basically run amok as the Senate was in the process of certifying election results?

If these insurgents had been BLM or Muslims, they would have never made it to the Capitol steps. There would have been a National Guard presence , tear gas, and probably many would have been shot on the spot.  Yesterday, you had Capitol police patting many of the terrorists on the back, taking selfies with them, and even opening doors to the Capitol for them. Were the cops MAGA-sympathetic? Why wasn't there a larger police presence? Why the leniency with these thugs?  

Maybe someone that knows more about security or policing can clear up my confusion as to how this was allowed to occur, especially when they knew something was likely going to go down.

Some of the Capitol police were heroes, some did what they could, some probably saw their safety in danger, but there are some huge leadership and tactical issues that stink of a set up.
