CINCINNATI - Check the roster of the Arizona Diamondbacks and you'll see Mark Reynolds' hometown listed as Virginia Beach, Virginia.

But talk to the third baseman of the third-place team and you'll learn pretty quickly, there's a whole lot of Kentucky and Pike County in him.

”I'm a huge UK basketball fan,” he said. “It's a religion in my house. My dad went there and my brother goes there now. Eastern Kentucky definitely has a strong place in my heart.”

Reynolds was born in Pikeville and still spends as much time as he can in his beloved mountains.
“I try to get back every Thanksgiving, every Christmas,” he said. “It's great to go back there and visit with everybody I don't get to see much. It's awesome to just relax and be yourself for a little while.”

Reynolds' area of Pike County is Feds Creek, where his mom and dad grew up and his grandparents, Bea and Marcum Keene, still live.
