I was at the Knott County Sports Plex this weekend and there was a basketball tournament going on. I noticed that there was a team playing called the WV Assault, that looked to be made up of kids from Knott and Perry counties. My question is...aren’t there any teams around here for these kids to play on?

The only teams around here for local kids are Eddie Combs team who are made up of 4th graders from Perry County. Mike Gayheart coaches a girls team made up of girls from Knott and Perry County. Most all other older kids play for out of state or on the Lexington-Louisville area teams. Would be nice if there was a local program. Heston Beverly wanted to do it for years but it never fell through.

It seems like they could put together some really good teams by taking the top players from each grade level that compete in the Knott County Sports Plex leagues. Smh
