There Cannot Be A Mercer-western Aa Final

It cannot happen.
Due to the new play-off system this year Mercer and Western would have to meet in the regional championship. One goes home before the finals.
Providing one doesn't get beat out before then, Which probably wont happen.:notworthy

Not too sure what you're talking about Mr. Football. Western is in Region 2 and Mercer is in Region 3. That means they would only meet in the state championship in the post season.

Was there any certain reason the KHSAA made the change? It just seems odd to have districts play each other out of line.

1A and 3A remain the same with the classic 1vs2 3vs4 5vs6 and 7vs8

There is also a change in 4A though. In 4A

1vs2 3vs6 4vs5 7vs8
