Players that should be hearing from Denison University in Ohio
#1
My inside source says the following players will be receiving a
Questionnaire. Make sure you return it if you are interested in them.
You should really take a visit there. The campus is sweet and the stadium is very nice.

I can tell u for sure JR Robinson from Pikeville hasnt gotten one yet.
#3
COach has not sent them out but he says he will at some point.
Keep me updated if you would on here or by PM.
#4
Very nice and beautiful school.

WARNING: Be prepared for $40,000.00+ per year, with no athletic scholarship.
#5
If you have the GPA and a high enough college test score the Financial Aid packed is very nice.

The average family that goes to work every day and earns just a basic living will not get squat in government financial aid. They just dont qualify.

Say you had a good GPA and a good ACT and were fortunate enough to get 50%, which is a fabulous amount to receive. That's still $20,000.00+ a year, just so you can play football? These DIII schools are entirely out of reach and way over priced for the average working man. You ever send a kid to a DIII school?..... I have ,and they are just not worth it.

But like I said, Dennison is a very nice school and has a quaint beautiful campus. Been there and was impressed with the asthetics, but that it where it stops and ends.
#7
I thought the student was actually going to school for the education and playing ball was a bonus.
#8
Denison Football practice.

I received something from them for basketball when I was a sophomore. Like someone else said, D3 schools are ridiculous. I went to one for a semester just to play basketball pretty much. Realized pre-med and basketball don't mix, so there was no reason to go there anymore. My tuition and room and board was over $34k a year and I can get the same education for just a few thousand a year. The whole reason I went there was mainly basketball and that is how most people will feel about it. Yes the campus is great, but you can get the same education around here for a fourth of the price.

That's the way it should be at any school that you send your kid to. I however, can vouche for what RunninReb says. Like I said.......been there, done that................and will never do it again.
#11
With so many D-3 going strong their seem to be a lot of parents sending their kids to them.

Great for those who do.

Again I ask, you ever send a kid to a $40,000.00+ a year school yourself?
#13
Nope, my kid is going to O.SU. Newark then to the main campus his JR. year.
#14
So did anyone hear from Denison?
They have had a coaching change.
I spoke to the coach who is running things until the new coach is name and he said they were still looking at most of the same players they were before the change.

NEWARKCATHOLICFAN Wrote:I thought the student was actually going to school for the education and playing ball was a bonus.

Exactly!

Some lose touch with that reality.
#16
Are they only looking at Pikeville and the WV school?
#17
NO, I have a complete list of players that I turned in to the staff . That list above was only one list.
#18
Those boys would be better off going to Kentucky Christian, where I'm sure most mentioned could play.

Any from NKY?
#20
Yes.
When I get in tonight I will post all of the players I was sent stuff out on from Kentucky.

Some names will appear twice this comes from watching tape on them more than once and/or having their names on the list from last season.

Each player had their name and what info I could get on them sent to several schools from different states.

I do this as my way of paying the players back for the good times they give me.

Nice list. But to me it seems kinda late to be pursuing alot of these kids. Juniors makes sense but many of those seniors have already made their choice. The seniors have been contacted weekly by many schools and become interested in those schools that constantly contact them.

Dennison is a great school. They may be contacting kids everyweek like some schools, I don't know. That is certainly what it takes to get the kids interested. Not a questionaire in February.
#24
The list was started at the end of last season and grew weekly so the coaches had these names a long time ago. I stop sending after the last game of the season I watch.
