Johnson Central vs. Ashland Predictions and Bets!
CAM2006 Wrote:I'll take Johnson Central in this one. Ashland has a great team but I don't think it will be enough for a win.

Also it rained until mid thursday afternoon Ashland didntpractice outdoors @ all that week and the lines weren't finished being painted until about 1:am Friday Morning cause of the weather so your conspiracy theory is completely bogus Ashland is way to classy to do that but judging by your coaches actions last year class isnt something held with hi regard in paintsville
Anything can happen on friday nights and ashland sure looks under rated to me....this game should be close but i think everyone will be surprised when the CATS Roll on to victory..

 I'll agree on that, I have no knowledge of last years game, but I know how they've ran a lot of their games this season tacking on as many points possible.

In what game have they tried to run up the score as you say? Give me 1 instance. If anything JC has been very respectful in its domination of teams. The starting defense of JC has only given up 4 TD's all season while the 2nd and 3rd strings have given up the rest. JC can not help the fact that its 2nd and 3rd string offenses have been better than most teams 1st string defenses.

I think that you meant to quote me by your response. I dont need bogus theories when I know what is fact. A Coach as smart as Coach Matney knows to bring new cleats when weather conditions permit for it. The fact was we had rain but not as much that was on that field that night. To bad for you I know people at Kings Daughters that told me what I said earlier. Like I said, this game is a JC this year, its our turf and our conditions. We like a dry field and thats what we will have come friday night. You can refer to Matney as classless if you choose, thats your opinion, but any man that would do what he has done for this boys is far from classless. Talk to you man Dicky Martin about class, he is exactly what it is not. JC has plenty to lose with this game and even more to gain. Both the Eagles and Tomcats will be ready to do battle, but from what I seen of Ashland against LC, JC is by far the more dominant team in all phases of the game.

First Off Getting you info from a hospital about conditions of a football field is obsurd and as i stated it rained til mid thursday afternoon and you will also never here me praise Dickie Martin as I am not one of his biggest fans and never have been
JC hasnt really played any good teams so i dont think they are gonna be ready. Ill take Ashland in a close one.
Kayaker Wrote:First of all lets not act like all the water on that field was from the rain that we had recieved. Talk to your local FD about it. And next dont worry about the field being wet for this game. JC has a tarp over the field to keep it nice a dry. JC is playing this game into there advantage. Bring a change of clothes though, cause the back of those jerseys are going to be hard to read considering the Tomcats will be on there backs about all night.Smile

Maybe we should bring our fire trucks to hose it down and give us a victory escort back home Smile
can someone tell me how to get to the nest fromashland i know you take us 23 but could use the rest of the directions

This is my first and hopefully my only post about the field conditions at Ashland last season. A parent of an Ashland player admitted that he was on the field in the early morning hours adding water. Why would anyone do this I don't know? So do we need to revive the conspiracy theory, NO what's done is done this is a new year with different teams by the way I hope this is not your idea of a classy program. But it may be the way they do things in Ashland.

I could be wrong but i think when you get off at the exit ramp you end up on the main drag and you just head in towards town and the field sits on the left

Thanks for the directions:Thumbs:
No problem, ive been there a few times in the past but i havent been since 2001 so things might be different down there now...my last trip was in the tomcat bus so things are kinda blurry...

I do not know of what you speak i know the grounds crew that cares for the stadium and as far as i know none of them had any kids playing for the team and if this is true how come it was never reported to the state as it is a cause for Ashland to forfeit the game Also Knowing Coach hart personally He tikes Pride In Being A classy Man and anyone who knows him or any of the other people involved with his staff would agree as i said before it rained from monday till mid thursday non-stop that is alot of rain and water but maybe what were forgetting is the ashland had to play in those same conditions and with the aerial and speed attack the cats had last season the wet conditions certaintly wouldnt have helped the m so i dont see why water would've been added most people i talked to were actually worried the conditions of the field favored the eagles
I love the little one line jabs at the class of Coach Matney. He has done a great job and does not deserve what has been said by a group of people that for the majority has never been around the man. If Ashland added extra water to the field last year is not important. If the field goal was good or wide is not important. Johnson Central and Ashland are two of the premier programs in our part of the state. Last year is last year. On Friday night, two good teams will meet in the nest and the better team will come out ahead. I have never met Ashland's coach and should not comment on what type of person he is. People should remember that football is an emotional sport. I would not want a coach that is not emotional when they get beat or when they feel that their players are not getting a fair shake. The field is covered and will be in good shape for Friday night. All I can say to the Ashland faithful is bring your A game.
With that said

JOHNSON CENTRAL 35
ASHLAND 20

Oh ok well that wasnt to long ago then and yeah i know what you mean i had my eye set on a ring last year and have seen the one from 90 it is nice

You take the first Paintsville exit...you'll go through three red lights...JC is on the left just past McDonalds...Your best bet for parking is to turn in at the third redlight(McDonald's will be on the left)this is Mayo Plaza and you can park anywhere in the large middle parking lot without fear of being towed. If you park here the quickest way into the stadium is at the lower end of the parking lot(by Goodwill)this leads into the student parking lot...right in front of the stadium. You can park in any of the three parking lots at the school, but sometimes it's easier to get out after the game if you park in the plaza.

Hope to see you there! This is gonna be show isn't it?

 The real show is gonna be the traffic jam on 23 about 6:00 pm friday
Big- D Wrote:It wouldve been nice to go when i played but rockcastle snuffed us out..

theres something we have in common
i also lost alot of respect for rockcastle when the wrote all over the lockerroom and taunted Drew Mcdavid ans he was injured late in last years game
and trying to get back out after the game

I don't know if this person was a member of the ground crew or not. As for it being reported it would have been 1 persons word against another nothing would have come from it. Like I said this is a different year and different teams.
[QUOTE=Kayaker]In what game have they tried to run up the score as you say? Give me 1 instance.[QUOTE]

The Apple Bowl, I left after 3 and he still had the starters in. I went to my girlfriends house and finished listening to the game, Spike was on the radio talking about Johnson out there making tackles and running it up the middle late in the game. They bring in the JV D for one play, Paintsville does a trick play gains a lot of yards on that one play, and well here comes the starting troops back on the field. I know Spike may be getting up there in age, but hopefully he can see the numbers I know he wouldn't call something that he didn't see. He saw it, I heard it. Talked to my cousin's dad(whose son is on the JC team) the next day, I asked him if it was true he said yes. The South Point game I attended was the same thing, almost all the starters in there with about 4 minutes left to go. Well I gave you two right there that I saw with my own eyes, and heard from the JC radio guy. Now you give me some examples of JC not trying to run the score up, AS YOU SAY? If I attended more games it was probably the same story.

Feel lucky you didnt go to rockcatsle and play that game....we played them down there and it was brutal....i think last years game shouldve been won by the cats but too late now.......we need to worry about this weeks game and hope the cats come out on top..
Agreed and moose if that is true i am shocked and someome eventually needs to turn the tables

It'll happen in about 6 weeks, my guess is in the State Semi's.

If you had seen the list the PHS kids sent to JC you would understand the starters being in there late...as for the South Point game I was there the "almost all the starters" were not in there.... maybe a few of the defensive players because we had some guys out that game, but the offense was out. You can't "run up the score" if your starting offense is on the sideline. Grim(our #1 scorer)was on the sideline after just a couple of minutes into the second half...if we wanted to run up the score he would have been in there.
