Larry Cockrel was the first great player from Cumberland I remember in the early to mid 70s. i think he went to Sam Houston State.
Others I found in all-state honorable mention lists include Grady Wilson, Ron Alexander, Major Griffey, Leon Brown, Robert Barnes, Sam Hazen and Dwayne Brock.

Bruce Mitchell was an all-stater at Lynch in 81, the last year the school was open.
Forrest Pearson was really good in the mid 70s. Kenny Austin and Tracy English played in the late 70s. James Price, Howard Jordan and Curt Stewart played earlier in the decade.
