In tubbys 10 years he lost in the second round 4 times. In the 3rd round he lost 2. He lost in the elite 8 3 times. And won the only championship appearance.

When pitino took over he had 6 years of eligibility for the tournament. In those 6 appearance he only lost in the second round 1 time. The other appearances resulted in at least a sweet 16. Not to mention he gave us two of the most memorable uk teams of all time. The untouchables, and the unforgettables.
