Don't get me wrong, 2000 yards is a very nice season of rushing, but this was an overall down year for yardage rushers this season. Ashland has had 2 2000 yard backs in the last 9 years and neither won the state rushing title.

1997, Jason Nichols, 11 games, 216 attempts, 2088 yards, 9.7 YPC, 189.9 YPG

2001, Arliss Beach, 12 games, 248 attempts, 2532 yards, 10.2 YPC, 211.4 YPG

2005, Ron Blume, 10 games, 191 attempts, 2040 yards, 10.7 YPC, 204.0 YPG (doesn't include post season game against Madison Southern where I believe he had around 100 yards, but not sure on carries)
