The Bulgarian team was treated as the definite losers where compared to their company in Group B of Real Madrid, FC Basel and FC Liverpool. Yet, the team from Sofia fought with the rivals on equal terms, won against Basel and took one point while hosting the Reds. Ludogorets are now bottom of the group table but with three points they will be the 3rd team. An eventual draw at Santiago Bernabeu will give them the Europa League but only in a case of a draw between Basel and Liverpool. Ludogorets have never won against a Spanish side.
