Very quickly the hosts took the lead and kept it for the first-half and 25 minutes of the second. The equalizer came in the 71st minute from Gerardo Moreno. For the young Spaniard it was the first goal of the new season. Villareal are now sitting 7th in the table with 8 points gathered in 5 games. The Madrid players have got more time to prepare and rest. Still, it should not be for a big advantage since both teams are used to play on many cups and tournaments. So matches within shorter period of time are nothing new to them. Los Blancos probably forgot about their problems from the very beginning of the season. On Tuesday Ronaldo & Co. won 5:1 against Elche at Santiago Bernabeu. The game was Ronaldo’s scoring show – the Portuguese scored 4 goals in that meeting (two were penalties). The Portuguese striker has scored in each league game so far and has altogether 9 goals on his account already. In the last three matches in all competitions (Spanish Primera Division and Champions League) Carlo Ancelotti’s team scored as many as 18 goals while they conceaded only 4. Real must still do without Khedira, who is injured. However, we hear more and more about a possible Arsenal move of the German international.
