Sophomore third baseman Andy Burns is leaving the UK baseball program.
Coach Gary Henderson confirmed that Burns was transferring, saying, "Andy is no longer a member of the UK baseball program. At the end of the season, both parties decided to go in another direction and we wish Andy nothing but the best in his future endeavors.â
Burns, a native of Ft. Collins, Colo., was a .279 hitter for his UK career, with 18 home runs and 63 RBI.
An Aflac All-American, Burns was part of UK's 2009 recruiting class that included five high school All-Americans, which ranked fourth-best in the NCAA.
