Reds opening with the Cubs today...Second year in a row these two clubs have opened the season together. These two teams will also close out the regular season come September at the GABP.
#3
Did they decide to get Adam"Fat A$$" Dunn out of Left field this year?

No...And he just belted a 2-run 1st inning homer. Reds lead Cubs 2-0.
#5
Dunn = Career Homerun 199.
#6
I hope he has lost some weight. Dunn is a great ball player.
#7
Dunn rings the bell for the second time of the day...Career homerun #200....3-0 Reds on Dunn's solo shot...

Figures I start bad mouthing him and he has this sort of day.

I was wondering why he was hitting 2nd in the lineup. I guess I should stop wondering. Smile

I was thinking the same thing Smile But keep it up...maybe it helps.

They moved him to 2nd to keep pitchers from try to walk him so much. With a big stick or two behind him they are less likely to walk him.

How's Freel doing today after trying to knock himself out last week?
#14
Freel scored earlier on Dunn's 1st dinger.

Reds 4 - Cubs 1....

Zambrano walks in a run on his 5th walk today, walking Hatteberg.
#16
Junior scores on a SAC fly by Alex Gonzalez...5-1 Reds in the 5th.

I gotta say, as a longtime Reds fan, it's been a pleasure to listen to Marty & son Thom in the broadcasting booth for the broadcast, along with the Ol' Lefthander Joe Nuxhall as their special guest today...Some things just never get old.

I dread it when Jeff Brantley takes to the airwaves. He's terrible.
#19
Oh dont tell me Jeff Brantley is going to call reds games.

Oh yes. I've already heard him calling some spring training games - H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E.

He sucked when he did some for ESPN.

This one belongs to the Reds...

Reds win, 5-1...
#24
42,720 attend today's game, second biggest crowd in GABP history.

Aaron Harang picks up the win, going 7 innings scattering 6 hits and surrendering 1 unearned run.

Adam Dunn, 2 homeruns. A 2-run shot and a solo blast.
#25
Awesome, congrats to Cincy on the opening day win, they looked very impressive.
#26
Looks like the Reds played awesome today, great pitching by Harang and just enough hitting. I'm already pumped about Arroyo's start on Wednesday. It's a night game, and he does alot better at night (he even said last year he pitches better at night).

Although, things may get pretty dicey when one of those two isn't pitching...

Let's go Big Red Machine!
#28
Anybody on here that either went to the game or watched it on TV, what did they do to the 'batter's eye' building in center field? I didn't get to watch the game, but I thought I read that they had added something to the top of it.

I didn't see the game, I listened to it, but they alluded to the batter's eye being different with Cincinnati Bell and Maker's Mark doing something out there.
