Casey 29 Estill 22
#1
Final. Casey went into Estill after a game with Glasgow that lead to us having 10 players out, 12 starting positions in street clothes and not able to participate. Estill scored methodically early against a very young Casey defense, then Casey scores in maybe 3 plays. Casey is leading in the third 21-7 but penalties turned the ball over. Estill managed to get a lead late as Casey's young guys kept making mental mistakes. However Estill left just over a minute on the clock and Casey's Ethan Willoughby leads the team right down the field for the game winning touchdown pass with only 4.8 seconds to go. All the Casey staff and "in the know" football fans had predicted Casey would lose this one by 2 to 3 TD's. It was great to see a win like this. Although as a softie these years it was hard seeing Estill senior players take a loss like that, heartfelt. Big win for our coaches and players but the coaches knew the adversity they were battling tonight.

Estill has an absolutely BEAUTIFUL facility! It is top 5 I've been to. I was there many years ago and it's unreal how much improvements they've made.

Injuries and sickness. 3 of the 4 starting receivers was out, starting guard, safety, both middle linebackers, outsidelinebacker, and defensive end did not play or dress. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

10 actual kids, 12 positions. 2 of them were out before the Glasgow game, concussion and an undisclosed on our outside backer. During the game we had several more injuries, as well as the following week of practice, and one kid with bacterial pneumonia.

Good win, very good win on the road with that many people out. Casey has had a great year.

Estill has some great looking kids. I just don't know if they were used to defending the spread so much. They have a fast little tailback and a big running back. Their kids really look like they get after it in the weight room. We've been blessed this year. We don't get 6'5", 235 pound QB's in our neck of the woods very often. Ethan Willoughby should be our district player of the year. A former all state player of ours does stats and Willoughby is over 2000 yards passing, and has 999 on the ground as of right now. I'm hoping we have a few more games to play, but I know we have at least 1 more. Thanks for the good comments.
