I know Paintsville is starting a club team this year,
and girls from Allen Central, Piarist, South Floyd, Betsy Layne, or Prestonsburg.

Anyone else starting a first club team?

how does this work? when do they play? is it during basketball...is it a winter sport? how long is the season, does it roll over into softball?

It starts this week.
And lasts from November until March.
and then most regular season volleyball teams start in June,
so it rolls right into season.

I know that the team for the 55h district consists of Piarist & AC girls.
They start practice Tuesday.
They practice Tuesdays & Thursday and they will be goin to places like Louisville for tournaments once a month.

How do most teams start in June when first legal practice date is July 15?

I think that most volleyball teams have open gym during the month of June & part of July and then start actual practice after dead period.

You can also enter a team in the Bluegrass Games in early August without the games counting against your schedule.

They now have an AAU league at the new Knott County Sportsplex.
Games are played on Thursdays..

Knott Co, Allen Central, Paintsville, Letcher Co., Prestonsburg, Piarist, and Perry Co. have teams for this AAU.

I think it is great practice for these teams to better themselves for next year.
