Great meet today with the Harlan County Girls and the Letcher County boys turning in impressive team performances. The Letcher girls were 2nd, and the Harlan County boys were 2nd in their respective races.

LCCHS' Chase Cates turned in a course record time of 17:36 capturing the Area 9 Individual Championship, Harlan County's Kaitlyn Stittums won the girls race.

Harlan and Letcher were the only full girl's squads, Perry County finished 3rd in the boys division. East Ridge, Pikeville, June Buchanan, and Harlan Independent also attended.

Good luck to everyone at their regional meets.

Congrats to Chase Cates and LCC for winning the Area 9 championship on the boys side. Harlan County had a very impressive performance on the boys side as well, with Seniors Caleb Bailey, Corey Hornsby, and Junior Steven Engle leading the bears.
The HC girls did awesome. If I am not mistaken, this years girls team would have beaten last years by almost 12 points. Bright future for this young ladies team. Best of luck to each team in region!
