Tates Creek came to Belfry having to know how good everyone said the Pirates could be. Well if they had any doubt about this they found out in just a little over a minute just how good Belfry was. The Pirates forced a Commodores punt after three offensive plays, and on the return the Pirates got a 73-yard touchdown by, #1- Cameron Catron, with 10:32 left on the clock. The point after kick by #26 Austin Woolum made it a,7-0 game. For all intents and purposes this game was over. On the ensuing kickoff #12 Langston Love fielded the kick and was flipped upside down by #20 Chase Dove, on a fine tackle, with 10:20 left in the opening period. #34 Grayson Cook of the Pirates stopped #14 Dylan Adkins on a third down play to force another Tates Creek punt with,10:07 left in the third. With 6:28 left the Pirates punt return team put the ball on the ground and recovering it for Tates Creek was,#4 Ellijah Johnson.. This gave the Commodores a first and ten at the Pirates 27-yard line. The Pirates defense was able to get the ball right back to its offense when, #5 Derek Wellman picked off a #27 Luke Duby pass, with 6:09 left in the one-side quarter.
