ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The 22nd-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team used three-point-shooting weapon, senior Duncan Robinson, to top Iowa, 74-59, on Wednesday (Feb. 14) inside Crisler Center. Robinson hit a season-high six three-pointers, bringing his career total to 215 which placed him sixth all-time on the Wolverines' career three-pointers list.

Four Wolverines scored in double-figures in the win: Robinson (18), senior Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman and juniors Moritz Wagner (14) and Charles Matthews (10). In addition to Abdur-Rahkman's 18 points, he dished out a season-high seven assists. The senior guard entered the game ranked first nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (9.44) and committed zero turnovers in tonight's game.

With his four assists, sophomore Zavier Simpson now has 103 this season and gives Michigan a player with 100-plus assists in a season for the 10th straight season.

After a 9-2 Hawkeye run to begin the game, the Wolverines came alive with back-to-back triples from freshman Isaiah Livers and graduate student Jaaron Simmons to cut their deficit to one, 9-8, at 15:31. Wagner added a bucket at 14:59 before Abdur-Rahkman stole the Iowa inbounds pass and added an uncontested layup to give the Maize and Blue its first lead of the half, 12-11, with 14:53 to go in the opening half.

Simmons continued making an impact in the point-guard rotation, dishing out back-to-back assists before stealing the ball and taking it back for two to cap a 7-3 U-M run, making it 19-14 with 10:48 remaining. Robinson began a three-point showing at 8:18 -- adding two more by the 2:07 mark to give the Wolverines a 35-24 lead. Matthews added a layup with 33 seconds to go, sending U-M to the locker room with a 37-24 halftime lead. Michigan held the Hawkeyes scoreless for the final 3:34 of the half.

Overall, Simmons added five points, three assists, two rebounds and one steal in his 11 minutes of play in the first half, giving U-M the spark it needed to take the lead over Iowa.

With the Wolverines leading, 49-40, in the second half, Robinson set the rim on fire once again with three straight triples in a span of just 1:13, bringing his total for the evening to six and giving U-M a 58-42 lead with 10:01 remaining in the game. Following Robinson's streak, the Wolverines maintained a double-digit lead over the Hawkeyes to finish out the game with a 74-59 victory. Michigan led by as many as 18 at the 5:33 mark.

Michigan got key minutes from sophomore Jon Teske in the second half; he finished with eight rebounds, four points, three steals and one assist in 16 minutes of play.

The Wolverines forced 16 turnovers while only committing six. It marks the fifth straight game of single-digit turnovers for the Wolverines and 14th of the season. U-M held Iowa to two three-pointers, tying its season low, while adding 12 triples of its own. U-M's 36 points from deep accounted for 49 percent of its total points for the evening (36 of 74). Michigan also stole the ball a season-high 13 times, led by Wagner with a season-high four steals.

The win over the Hawkeyes marks U-M's 10th Big Ten win of the season and third straight season with double-digit conference wins. The Wolverines are now 14-1 at home this season with one home game remaining.

Michigan will host rival Ohio State for its home finale on Saturday (Feb. 18) inside Crisler Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on CBS. The game is a Maize Out and all fans are encouraged to wear maize and arrive early for U-M's Senior Day presentation.
