Kentucky assistant leaving for basketball academy
#1
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- After three seasons with Kentucky, assistant Cameron Hill has decided to leave.

Hill, 30, has taken a position with the U.S. Basketball Academy in Blue River, Ore.

Hill, the son of Seattle Supersonics Coach Bob Hill, had been Kentucky's director of player development and worked as an administrative assistant to coach Tubby Smith. His duties also included devising and conducting offseason workouts to help players prepare for pro tryouts.

"It was just an unbelievable opportunity to be involved in a program as wonderful as Kentucky's," Hill said. "Not everybody gets that kind of opportunity."

Hill begins work at the U.S. Basketball Academy in September. The academy serves as a training facility for college, professional and foreign players.
