Another thread about the Weapons ban.
#1
I've heard more people say that the U.S. will be safer with No type of firearms of any kind in the hands of civilians. Or banning all "Assault" weapons and high capacity magazines is the answer.

And people are entitled to their opinion.

BUT my reply to all of this "weapons" ban talk is Prison. Any and all types of weapons are strictly banned in correctional facilities. Most prisons will send the inmate found in possession of the weapon to Segregation and possibly face catching an additional charge. But if anybody watches the prison documentary shows or have ever served time or worked in a prison knows that there are more home-made knifes (shanks) than you can imagine.

Meaning: If somebody wants to cause harm, terrorize or kill another person, they will. No matter if "assault" weapons, high capacity mags or any other type of firearms are banned, it is not gonna stop criminals from being crimials.

Murders with blunt force objects (bats, hammers, etc...) cause more deaths every year than guns, almost double the amount.

The underlying problem to all of this is not gun control but the justice system and mental stability of the people in this nation.

This is nothing but a knee jerk reaction. And when someone does a mass shooting with a hand gun, what are they going to do then?

Fun Fact. The idea of an "assault weapons" ban was thought up by the anti gunners and the brady bunch after they realised they were never gonna get their dream of a handgun ban. Also got to add that these mass shootings might be the only murders with a "assault weapon" commited in a years time. 400 kids under 5 years of age a year drown in pools, so by liberal logic we should ban pools deeper than 4 feet because they are more dangerous even though no statistics could support it.

Exactly right. What if there was not one gun to be had in the whole country and one wanted to commit a mass murder? The point is exactly as judgementday has said, if a person wants to hurt somebody he will find something to use as a weapon. I don't know exactly what Cain used to slay Abel but, you can bet it wasn't an assault rifle.

Seems to me a guy proficient with a ninja sword, could wreak considerable havoc if he took up a position in front of the main exit of a theater full of people. As in the case of the Aurora shooting, the victims hadn't done anything to the shooter, he just needed a captive crowd of sufficient size to get the numbers he was after. Had two or three guys in the theater at Aurora been armed, the carnage could well have been limited. Similarly, schools afford would be murderers the same kind target rich environment. IMO, every school needs a policeman standing watch every day.

This is yet another example of the supremely naive nature of liberals. They actually think the answer to crime and all of men's woes is to enact some new legislation. As if the paper it's written on is somehow magic, in and of itself. For example, Obama and other liberals actually believe the ObamaCare law is selfperpetuating. They ordered insurance companies and employers across this land to 'give' uninsured folks health care. Even lowered the standard work week down to only 32 hours in an attempt to sort of take away any wiggle room employers may have to dodge the bullet. So now, employers are dropping employee hours to around 24 hours and administration bozos and liberals one and all are all incredulous about that. Same thing is true with their efforts to legislate morality, what food we should eat, what fuels are okay, and who should be handed everything in life and who should pay for it all. The inmates are running the asylum boys.

BTW according to some articles I have read and the general pulse it looks like the dems arent going to support much of Obamas proposals.
