Nerlens Noel Not Eligible to Play at Kentucky?
#1
Zagsblog is reporting that the NCAA is still investigating Nerlen Noel’s eligibility. Adam Zagoria would not reveal who his source is , but only say that is someone close to the situation. According to him, Nerlens will only be allowed to practice for 45 days. After that, Noel will have to sit out until the NCAA makes an official judgment on his amateur status. We all remember how long the powers to be at the NCAA took to rule on Enes Kanter.

Will UK be able to get him cleared to play or will he have to sit out the entire season?
#3
^ there's nothing UK can do, it sounds like it's all in the NCAA's hands and UK has to be patient. Not good if can't play cause he's going pro after this season.

NCAA is a bigger joke than the KHSAA !

Im not worried about Noel, but UCLA will be worried about Shabazz...

From the sounds of things, this is a situation basically akin to the John Wall flap.
If they find against him, he'll probably have to pay back a little travel money, and
sit a game or two. My bet is they slap down a 2 game suspension on Nov. 6.
#7
Well he can't play against duke. That would be unfair.

You mean the College AD's and Presidents are bigger jokes than the High School AD's and Principals??? There is no such thing as an NCAA or KHSAA ruling body, it's the colleges and High Schools themselves who rule on sanctions and eligibility! Let's just make sure we put blame to the proper people!

They will always find something

It is no secret that our coach brought some shadows with him from Memphis. Meaning the ncaa dislikes him

He will be fine, might have to sit out an exhibition or two but that's it. He will play vs Duke and everyone else. Noel, UK and even the NCAA itself have said multiple times each that he's cleared...this is just a type of "witch hunt". He reclassed the right way, did everything correctly, and because of that he and we will be fine.

^ I heard this exact same expectation for Kanter!

Quote:What made the NCAA's visit to Tilton intriguing is that a senior Kentucky official, UK chief compliance officer Sandy Bell, accompanied Merrill and Smith for the meeting. Bell didn't ask many questions, according to the source, but did take notes and spoke up occasionally. The presence of two NCAA enforcement officials and Bell gives the appearance that this case has gone beyond the routine checking of top prospects, according to one former NCAA investigator.

Kanter's situation is a lot different. I believe everyone sensible believed that Enes playing was reaching for the stars. To my knowledge, as of yesterday everyone expects Noel to play.
