Paintsville 63 Sheldon Clark 50

I can also say they are better off without Brady and the drama that comes along with him in his dad and they definitely don't want him back.

was there a fight during the JC game that was Paintsville's fault? Yes there was. Actions were taken and kids were punished. Was last night anyone's fault other than SC? Not a chance. #5 went after not 1, not 2, but 3 kids. The kid slammed with the forearm fell into the cheerleaders. There's enough video evidence to prove that. What about the kid that attacked another in the corner and was escorted out by police? The kid hit in the fight came from SC. Obviously nobody cares that these kids transferred.
Even if they don't win the region and there season is prolonged, that's two games longer than SC plays and if they didn't care about that then they wouldn't have a kid that has been to 4 high schools in 4 years on their roster. They tried to up their chances by bringing a kid in from wherever he came from. SO now you all can go work on your baseball skills. Wait does SC have a baseball team?

WinkWinkler Wrote:An embarrassment for both schools. Amazing how Paintsville people believe nothing is their fault. Zero supervision on the hosting schools part. If Paintsville cannot clean their zoo up then they do not need to host anymore games. Cheerleaders should not be getting knocked to the floor. As far as Paintsville going to the region, BIG DEAL. They will not win the region, so all it does it prolong the season. Gives Lawrence Countys (terrible lose to FC) baseball team added prep time for the upcoming season on the other baseball powers.
Welcome To The Jungle!!!! Home of the Tigers🐅

There was no supervision? I counted 9 adults standing in front of the bleachers were fans were and that didn't include all of the police officers present. There were KSP, Johnson CO. Sheriff, City police, and the school officer. This fight didn't start in the stands but in the handshake line.
#35
Supervision was there...once the handshakes begin it's the coaching staffs of both schools to control their players. Both teams have kids that have control issues. The coaches should see that and be prepared.

Paintsville has welcomed him & his family with open arms. They are a great family & have brought no drama to the Tiger program. Drama only follows losing programs

Is that a shot at Trey? When I seen SC play. He was clearly their best player.

I am almost positive that SC would have thought it was a BIG DEAL if they had made it to regions.

Yeah, I am not sure what more you expect a host school to do. I saw Superintendent, Principals, AD, Police, etc all on the floor at and prior to the finish of the game. Beyond a police escort through the handshake line, I am not sure what else you do...
#40
from a spectators view it looked like both fights started around the coaches, not sure what happened, but i for one think that you almost just scratch the handshake after the game, no rule says you ha e to do it and it is meant to show respect and sportsmanship, but if you are using it to talk tras and float over a win it is going to cause a scuffle, so at the end of the games just go to your locker room and not shake hands

Creeker Wrote:^ I don't have a dog in this fight, but from what I saw as a non-biased spectator... #5 from SC appeared to be there to start something from the tip and Fugate from Paintsville seemed to have the same mentality.

Fugate absolutely did nothing in this game but smile. Sc kids couldn’t handle knowing they was getting sent home
#42
^ is that why they called the Technical on him? For Smiling? It was encouraging to see that Slone at least made him sit a while for that one...

The T was said to the ref, nothing to sc players. He did nothing to instigate with other team

^ Looked like he was trash talking all night to me.

Thinking back to the Pelphrey, Couch, Adkins group and the VanHoose, Tackett, Ratliff, McKenzie group you didn't have this type of situations. They played teams hard and teams played hard against them. When the game was over they did the hand shack and went home. I guess they were more disciplined, more mature or something. As a matter of fact I'm trying to think if they ever had a technical foul called on them. If there were any, they were few and far between.
#46
Are you serious? Pelphrey's dad was in one of the biggest brawls in high schools sports.

I like your confidence Eye of the Tiger and I’m as big a Tiger fan as you are, but you have to admit Dingus couldn’t guard a water bucket. If this Tiger team don’t get it together on the defensive end they will get beat Friday night and ousted first game of Region. Have to take more pride on defense!!!

He’s getting better on D & had a huge steal late in the game last night. If these Tigers play good team D, they will be a very tough out @ the Expo

This statement is false. Nearly all the players you mentioned were as tough as nails and they definitely liked to run their mouths a little. The difference is there was no social media and kids were a lot tougher back then.
#51
I disagree with you. I wasn't talking about talking on the floor. Your point of kids being tougher is correct. These guys were tough as nails. They also knew when to shut-up and act like a young adult. My point was they won a lot of games and were respected and didn't get T'ed every game. Plus there's a big difference in talking during a game and being a smarta$$ on and off the floor.
2/3rds of the players playing today couldn't play on those teams but yet the act like they're twice as good. Can you imagine one of them driving on Joey Couch scoring and then saying something smart or giving him a stare? What would happen the next time this guy took a trip down the lane?
Again, my point was the played hard but weren't buttholes.
#52
Bottom line for both teams...it’s the coaches responsibility to control his players. If you let them trash talk & hot dog you are asking for trouble. At the first sight of it sit junior down beside you and let him know that we win with class and if by chance we lose we do it the same way. If junior doesn’t like to do it my way he can find a place elsewhere. That’s what’s wrong with the game today. I’ll take my ball somewhere else attitudes and coaches afraid to say good riddance.
#53
It all boiled down to sc thought they had a chance & got butt hurt when they was proved wrong. When the game was tied it wasn’t close & they had no chance to win
#54
I'm very serious! The brawl your talking about did NOT involve any of the players mentioned in the post. Secondly Mr. Pelphrey was not involved in the brawl other than to pull the man directly involved in brawl from the crowd and lastly you can go to youtube and watch it and draw you're own conclusion of who started it and who was involved.
#55

Yes I'm very serious. First I was talking about players, and none of the players I mentioned were involved in that brawl. Secondly, Mr. Pelphrey was only trying to pull one of the people involved from the brawl. So know what your talking about before you post.
