Longtime BGR member & even longer time player/coach/parent/supporter of all things Johnson Central athletics, JC Blanton passed away today after an extended illness.

JC was Johnson Central's first-ever State Wrestling placer @ 185 lbs. in 1984.

JC's son, Geordon (#7) was the starting WR/DB for the 2016 Johnson Central football team that won the Class 4A state championship and was the 2015, 145 lbs. & 2017, 160 lbs. KHSAA state wrestling champion.

Prayers go out to JCs family. Umpired a lot of Gordon’s baseball games and they were always inseparable. We also worked together quite a bit. He was involved in helping some of the most vulnerable kids in our area. He will be missed for sure!
