#1
UK TE coach and lead recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow, aka The Big Dawg is finalizing a three year deal to be Louisville's GM.

3 months ago he told BBN that he wasn't leaving.

I don’t like the state of the UK football program right now. Feel like we are trending in the wrong direction.

Been going backwards for a while now. Starting to look like the gloom days again. Sure hope I am wrong.

This is the 47th time hes tried to leave, UK is better with him gone, hes been a major roadblock in player retention and recruiting lately. Time for new blood.

I think Stoops is gone after this season. Him trying to get the texas am job awhile back showed he didn't wanna be here then.

Sure feels that way, doesn't it?

This season has all the makings of a disaster.

It really does. Hope we're wrong. Wouldn't be surprised if this is Mark's swan song. Starting to feel like the end of Cal's tenure. The vibes are not good. Probably time to move on.

Not upset in the least Vince left and won't be when Stoops leaves either. They have both peaked already IMO, at least at UK. Where the program goes from there will depend on the hires. I have faith we will get 2 better people for a lot less $$$. Like my dad said every time I went through a breakup, you can always do worse and you can always to better, just make sure you do better next time. lol

Sage advice.

This definitely has all the feelings of the final season for Joker Phillips type season for Stoops. Looking at the schedule, there's a real potential to go winless in conference play, just winning our usual cupcake games which would put us at 3-9.

Writing was on the wall for Marrow leaving, he had been courted by Louisville already, and even Purdue when Brohm was there but he always stuck with Stoops who had been there since the beginning, cupboard was bare, but they really started putting together a solid foundation & culture. Here we are years later and things really went south. The decline really started whenever the Stoops to Texas A&M story broke loose and there seemed to be real traction that he was going to be the next HC, then when A&M pulled out, Stoops was like, "hey guys all that was just a ruse, I am committed to Lexington."

Few articles I've read that bringing back in Eddie Gran to be the so called GM (same position Marrow took at UL) was really a big change, and not a good one for Marrow. Stoops started leaning more toward Gran, and a few other select coaches for any & everything, when before, Marrow had always been Stoops right hand, when he started to fall out of place, things started going into motion. Most people thought that Marrow just liked the attention of being courted by other programs, but I always had a feeling he would eventually leave, but to leave for Louisville was one big FU to Stoops, there's no denying that.

This right here may be the final nail in the coffin for the Mark Stoops era at Kentucky, losing your key recruiting guru to your rival school, and especially if they perform as bad as most everyone expects, there's just no way of him surviving.
