JPA don’t need to give anyone 150K for his son to coach. RPA has been around it his whole life and would do fine there if given a chance. Guarantee he wouldn’t play politics. He’d be to busy recruiting and trying to win. Huff will do fine with or without transfers. If kids are smart, they will come. It’s hard to find a coach you really love. Also would be football upgrade for them. Dang HS job. Wow. This is comical and that is peanut pay by the way.

If these are the names hazard is choosing from, then they are scraping the bottom of the barrel. One would think they would have better names to choose from but maybe this isn’t the job some people make it out to be. Seen a lot of complaining about Al the last few years wanting him gone. If Huff is their man the dawgs will regret what they had been hoping for

Holler Rat, the job is no big deal. Hazard nor any other school in the region is exactly a UK Wildcat recruiting pipeline. It’s small little high school job. Amis, Huff, Adkins, or Parker Carter would all do fine there. Just have to have discipline and hard work ethic. Put the X’s and O’s in and see if they Jimmy’s and Joes can execute. Not a very prestigious job in my opinion.

If hazard is hiring a mediocre coach in Huff (that basically just got fired at knott) on the premise that he might bring some mediocre basketball players with him, who also happen to be mediocre football players as well, then hazard has much bigger problems.

Where did you play and coach at Kid?

One doesn’t need a D1 pedigree to see that Hazard hiring an unproven coach, in part, because he could potentially bring a couple decent basketball players with him, that could also play football, is stupid.

Years ago when the Dawgs were in the state tournament he was asked if he was going to root for the 14th representative in their Sweet 16 game and his answer was an emphatic, “NO! I’d root for North Korea before I would Hazard!” Lol.
1. Hazard has already hired Huff
2. JPA is willing to pay 150,000 to get RPA the job
3. Admin trying to hold off both of these guys long enough to get Hurt from EKU interested in the HHS job

When you get immediate success it draws attention and will eventually help pull other kids in for all programs. The names I’ve heard floating around that could possibly enroll would help basketball, baseball, and football all around. If you have immediate success then other kids will come too. Doesn’t sound like that bad of an idea to me but maybe that’s just my way of thinking.

So suddenly all these players want to follow and play for Huff? The past few years some of the better players in the region were kids that LEFT Knott while Huff was coach there.

Huff can coach basketball. He’s more than qualified. Everyone can’t win every game. Sometimes teams get upset. 99 percent of the time, the kids miss the shots and make the mistakes. All plays can’t be drawn up to perfection.

Huff will do a good job. Kinda odd though that the hire hasn’t been made official although.

Immediate success? Hazard is already good in every single one of the main sports and always has been. I’m sorry, but the idea hazard should hire an unproven coach from a nearby rival school, in part, because they could poach a few players is absolutely absurd.
