Let hear about the scrimmage games

Let’s hear opinions on scrimmage games
#2
I'll go ahead and make to normal post for a scrimmage from the losing team's fans:

Coach kept it pretty close to the vest, didn't want to show anything to ________, who was scouting the game. We held out our main running back. He's just a little banged up, but we need him full strength for the season. We kept it very vanilla on offense and defense, and let a lot of young kids get reps. I know we lost 40-6, in the live portion of the scrimmage, but it was just a scrimmage, but when we use our whole playbook, and don't sub down so much, I look for us to have a great year and make a deep run in the playoffs.

And from the winning team's fans:

Overall we looked pretty good. We dominated up front on both sides of the ball, and the skill position players all looked fast, even though we didn't give anyone the ball much. I'd say we've got 3 or 4 that run sub 4.3s out there. I was hard to tell exactly how tough this offense is going to, because the coach kept everything completely vanilla and only used a few plays, with eyes from all over watching the scrimmage. It's early, but we looked to be in mid-season form. Once we open up the playbook I look for a big season and a run to Kroger field.

Just fill in team names, and those should work for any scrimmage.

Like I’ve said all along.

Perry will be better than last year! And they proved it in scrimmage 1..

Leslie will fight for their district and has a shot to win it now with Noah ..

Not really concerned about anyone else.

Mediocre at best

LOL early leader for post of the year!

I would add:

Losing team's fans: The team that beat us is great and probably won't lose a game all year.
Winning team's fans: Those guys shouldn't hang their heads. They have a great team and probably won't lose a game all year.

Scott County is better this year than they were last year.

How did Ashland and Johnson Central do in there last scrimmage
#12
Johnson central looked really good from what I was told vs Mingo central. Heard that Mingo didn't score all night and Johnson scored alot. They didn't keep score
#13
Harlan Co won their scrimmage game against Leslie Co. But I never put much regard into scrimmage games. They mean about as much to me as media rankings do.

The game to watch tonight in Eastern Kentucky is Shelby Valley vs Prestonsburg. 2 new coaches. Valley coming off a historically good season. Will be interesting to see how the offense plays now that QB Russ Osborne graduated.

Breathitt beat estill yesterday. I watched a few snaps on bsn. Breathitt has a star in the rising with Eli Thomas. He’s going to be the best back/receiver in the mountains quick if he keeps improving. He’s just a freshmen. The QB has all the right ingredients too, just small. Hoping he continues to grow and feel out. These kids are hold backs and should be sophomores but what kid in the mountains that play sports aren’t hold backs. Finally breathitt has some good young talent playing and they should make a run in the playoffs the next three seasons. Not happening this season tho. Good luck to all
