I agree Corbin should be No. 1 going into the season, but none of those guys with the "They are No. 1 until someone beats them" line are around this year for some reason.

Corbin is clearly the favorite. I believe Bell County will be a sleeper team to watch for this year. Their new coach has had success everywhere he's been in the past, that stuff don't just happen!

5 of the top seven in the Tri County area including 4 of the top 5. Basketball will be very interesting here come first of the year.

I think the Bobcats are going to surprise some people. They are going to be dangerous! There is a lot of talent there. Whitley could be scary too. They are just in a rough district!

I think the Generals can surprise some people .
#14
Generals return Most of team from Last year 14-17 Team . 6 seniors .don't think we will win Dist with What we have but we should be Competitive . coach parrott will get the most Out of what He has. he usually does .solid coach
#15
Jackson was very competitive in the summer. Clay and North will be ranked higher after last year, but with both losing quite a few players, Jackson may have a shot to move up.

Who are Knox Central and Corbin’s best players?

Corbin has Andrew Taylor, Chase Sanders, and a new kid from LCA who seems like he’ll be a nice addition.

Knox has Markelle Turner, Jermel Carton if he plays, and the freshman from last year. Don’t remember his name but he was solid.

Knox Central, Markelle Turner, Nick Martin, Jermel Carton and Jaylen Adams

Corbin, Andrew Taylor, Chase Sanders, Matt Taylor and new kid Stewart.

I think it will come down to which teams players developed over the summer.
You know what you're getting with Corbin's Taylor best player in the 13th region, but has Sanders and M.Taylor improved enough to take pressure off A. Taylor, to not have to be Corbin's scorer every night. Will the new kids be able to play their role on the team with out up setting the apple cart ?

From what I've heard and saw both teams have really step up their schedule.

Corbin's out of region schedule ( LCA, L Cath, E. Jess, Lincoln Co, Pendleton Co, Mercer co. Doss and Pulaski Co. ) City of Palm Christmas Tournament they play Mars Penn HS. They have ESPN #80 player. The have a possible game with Kaukauna Wisconsin HS with UWV commitment Jordan McCabe (PG). or Upson-Lee Georgia's 4 A champions.?

North Hardin in Cumberland Falls.

In Region schedule ( South Laurel and Whitley Co.) twice in district Harlan Co. (twice) Clay Co, Jackson Co. North Laurel, Harlan City.

With Turner, another top player in the 13th region. A player I think is just a little notch below Corbin's Taylor. An the question is the same has Martin and Adams improved over the summer to help Turner? Carton, coming back off a whole year from playing high school basketball. Will he be ready by district and regional tournament?

KC Schedule They Play in the WYMT Classic Tournament and Cumberland Falls, (George Washington HS) in the Buffalo Wild Wings Shootout Pikeville, Cordia, Mercer, Buckhorn, Johnson Central, Taste Creek Frederick Douglas Lexington, (twice) Wayne Co, Louisville Iroquois and Somerset.

In Region Corbin, Bell Co, North Laurel and Whitley Co.

South laurel, has to be in the mix with two starters back like J. J. Ramey and Ryan Anders both top players in the region. You mix in Cormer and Madden and you have a very good team. South Laurel would like to fly under the radar but that's impossible with this talent. Yes they have a few younger players that will have to set up, but their more than able to set up. Their younger players got loads of experience over the summer with summer ball and AAU. South Laurel's talented younger players logged tons of playing time while getting crushed
sometimes. Was just a great move to get younger talented players, playing time on a varsity level.

This not the South Laurel teams over the last two years, and they want, the bulls eye off their back, With their returning talent ( Anders, Ramey and madden) if anyone over looks this bunch will go home early come district or regional tournament.

South laurels, Out of region schedule, Breathitt Co. Cordai, Highlands, Estill Co
Fleming Co. Scott, Pikeville, GRC, Madison Central and Rockcastle Co. In Region North Laurel, Corbin and Whitley Co. twice Harlan Co, Clay Co.

Top 3 teams Corbin, Knox Central and South Laurel
Top dark hors teams Bell Co. Clay Co. Harlan, Harlan Co. & North laurel
Top Single A champion Lynn Camp

It's going to be a fun year in the 13th Region!!

I'm afraid with Corbin and Knox it doesn't matter how much anyone has improved or how the new players look. Turner for Knox and Taylor for Corbin will shoot 70% of their shots. Knox is the most talented team I think, but coaching or team chemistry will doom Knox I'm afraid. Not sure about South. They have a ton of talent too, but heard they played a ton of 8th graders and freshman in summer ball. I would like to know how they talked Doss in going to Corbin too. They have no idea what they're in for. Lol.

Athleticism and basketball talent is two totally different things. The back court (Turner and Carton). Will be a tough back court especially if Carton get back from pre ALC injury Very athletic and talented.

(Taylor and Sanders) are very talented players both have high (BB. I.Qs.) in the back court. I think they will be the best back court in the region.

South Laurels, ( Anders and Ramey) is very talented and athletic as well, especially in transition. The key for South's back court is how aggressive Anders, becomes this year.

Doss, coming to Corbin ? who knows... $$

LOL. The 13th region teams as a whole has a bad name out of the region with other coaches and teams that come to play. Corbin, inside the region has the worse name for refs giving them calls.

This year it looks like the Hounds, will play some good teams on neutral floors and other teams home floor, so the Hounds, will be challenged this year with their schedule.
#21
Souths key will def be how aggressive anders is plus how aggressive cromer and dalton are. all three have got much stronger which should help. They have the ability to step up just have to see if they do.
#22
Only a few teams get that 13th region advantage. The other 13th region teams suffer playing those few.

I thought Matthew Comer, was one of the most impressive players for South Laurel during summer ball. If the Dalton, kid comes back South Laurel will be one of the most athletic teams in the region! (Anders, Ramey & Dalton)

Not sure Whitley knows how to win, no tradition.
#25
Has Whitley ever played in a regional final?

I think early 70's was only time. Maybe 74 vs Clay Co and I think Whitley hosted that year.

Clay Co beat Whitley Co 84-69 at Mboro in 1974 I think, Jerry Hodges was coaching at Whitley...

If Hodges had brought Roger Richardson up off the 5th 6th grade team Whitley would have pulled it out.
