Nice Win.

This is a big time win for them. Should squash all doubt.

Definitely improved over last year.

surprising.

Watched this one on TV. CovCath will searching for a new coach after the season. Players looked like they didn't want to be there.

Very nice win.

I thought this was CovCaths year? Not! Great job Beechwood!

Huge win for Beechwood. They will vault up the polls.
10-05-2014, 05:35 AM
Beechwood looking like they could make Mayfield break a sweat.
10-05-2014, 05:37 AM
This could make things very interesting in the west

Just a great win for anyone but especially a 1A school

And just to think, about two weeks ago there were a bunch of eastern folk on here telling how they shouldn't be ranked in the polls. The comments were to the effect that they were in there based upon their name. I told y'all then that this is the way they start a year playing tough teams and taking early losses. That is their method. I just wish they were on the east side so you all could see just how weak they are.

I agree Beechwood should have been ranked all along.
However, its obvious Cov Cath may be the most overrated team in the state. It appears they are flat out horrible.

Solid win and will more than likely shoot Beechwood up.

Congrats to the Tigers on the win.
Really enjoy the remarks by Coach Rash in this article towards the end about the social media bashing.
This one is for you gut...

I am curious, are the d-bags who were calling for the head coaches head the same ones kissing his arse now?
Way to keep your kids focused and on a good foot Coach Rash.

Good win for tigers, it looks like they are in a groove. 1a in Nky will struggle against this group.

I for one will admit that I didn't think Beechwood would win this game? I really wasn't sure how good they were, but based on how tough their schedule is, you knew they'd be prepared come playoff time. This is a big win for Beechwood, but there is one huge mitigating circumstance that hasn't been really addressed, and that is Adam Wagner going out of the game after only a few snaps. This is a senior quarterback that makes up for most of their offensive attack. Losing a running back or a wide receiver isn't the same as losing youre emotional leader as well as your key playmaker. I'm not saying Beechwood wouldn't have won if he stayed in the game, but taking away 200+ yards a game of offense through the air will make a team completely different mentally and physically. He's also had a game or two where he's rushed for over 100 yards as well. Who knows how it would've ended if he stayed in, but one things for sure, it'd have been a completely different game. Regardless, it was still a huge win. Congrats

Will the real Beechwood please stand up.

This is funny. I look forward to the second round of the playoffs when Cov whips JR again for those that are saying they are terrible.

COV CATH is a one man team on offense and that is Wagner. No WR or RB making any noise on that team. Coaching and play calling partly to blame.

You have to remember that the backup Ben Dressman led CCH to a 28-7 win over the tigers last year and QB'd the Colonels for about 8 games last year while wagner was hurt. CCH moved the ball but Beechwood was able to stop them in the red zone.
Adam Wagner is very good player but I don't think CCH is a one man team.

I really don't think Cov Cath is a bad team. I think this is what happens in the north. You have a lot of teams that are pretty equal. They have some of the toughest schedules around. They get beat up on in those games. They get nagging injuries that come into play. They all know each other very well and therefore know how to attack each other. This causes losses that no one saw coming. You check it out every year and there is this type of results each and every time. I think Beechwood is just better than anyone wanted to admit. I knew this type of result would come. These guys are not gonna go away. There is too much pride and tradition. We in the west are just going to have to prepare and get ready to go to their house with upset on our minds.

You may be right? All I know is there were several plays that may have been different if Wagner would've been back there, the interception and big sack are two I can think of. I don't think their a one-man show on offense, but when you take over half of somebody offense away and then they have to figure out a way to make up for that on the fly, it makes good teams look pretty mediocre. If he'd been out a whole week and they had time to prepare with another quarterback then I'd say it may not make that huge of a difference? However, this put a dagger in their whole team on the first drive they had. Covington Catholic is much better than the score indicates and I think with Wagner they are probably better than Beechwood, but Beechwood hit them in the mouth out of the gate in this one and there wasn't any way to recover. Regardless of who was at QB, Covington Catholic still didn't stop them on defense.

You think beating Beechwood would be an upset? And yet you call the Cards #1

We know better than to overlook the Tigers. They are always solid. I think they could have a very good shot at us. It's at home. We are young. They are Beechwood. This is why I wish they were in the east. If they were, you all over there would understand just how solid they have been over the past 5 years.

:dudecomeon: Newport is better than they've been in the past, but no way they're a top team. NewCath should have their way with them this week.
