Excitement over new Kentucky football coach Mark Stoops does not appear to be waning. The school has already sold nearly 5,000 more season tickets than last season and almost 7,000 more than it had sold at this same point in 2012. The Cats sold 43,177 season tickets for 2013 as of Monday, compared to 36,021 the week of July 23 last year.
UK would still need to sell about 5,000 more to match the 2011 total and 13,000 to reach the 2009 total, which was the peak of season-ticket sales in Lexington. But clearly the Cats are making progress, and the marketing blitz just launched via mail to alumni and former ticket-holders should help this year’s numbers continue to grow. Here’s a look at this year’s sales so far compared to final season-ticket numbers for the previous decade:
UK FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS
2013 – 43,177 (as of Monday)
2012 – 38,475
2011 – 48,405
2010 – 52,349
2009 – 56,440
2008 – 54,788
2007 – 52,551
2006 – 42,974
2005 – 45,489
2004 – 48,842
2003 – 49,281

I quit buying season tickets when Joker was named head coach. I knew that was a disaster, as stated on here several times.
Ill give Stoops a year to show me its worth my money.

Should give Stoops a least a 2 years, this team will win more games than most think IMO with little talent. The next year class coming in it looking good for the Cats. After year #2 Ky will be in mix for SEC east race.
