Very close game - Owsley had the ball down 1 and Allen forced a 3 - the Owls got it back and Shelby missed a 3 at the buzzer he had a good look - Joey Grove fouled out on some questionable calls by Thacker. It would have been nice to see him on the floor to finish the game. Grove was having a very good game and the Owls could of used him at the end. The Owls had a good season and will be back next year.

Dead on 8th Street. The officals didn't help us but we had every opportunity and just didn't take advantage. A HARD played game by both teams and fun to watch. Didn't care for the Lee County players actions after the game but what do you expect, it's what they have been taught.

Lee players giving the old bye-bye to Owsley players. Not a big deal but we try to stick with our smaller school brother when we can.

This doesn't sound like our team and no that is not what they have been taught. Owsley is wishing Lee County good luck in the tournament. Why would they be doing that if our team was rude to them? Let's be adults, shall we?

I wasn't crazy about the officiating tonight but Owsley did have their chances and didn't make the most of them.
Owls had a good look at a 3 to tie the game at the horn but couldn't get it to fall. Hard fought game from both teams.

This was great game to watch! IMO it was a bad call when they call the push on Allen at half court when the kid from powell co. just tripped over his feet! But that is the way the cookie crumbles!! Owsley Co. played from behind the entire game should have never fell behind like they did!

Great turn around season for the owls from where they have been the last two seasons!
Owsley Co. will right back in the mix next season for the 56th district title!!
Only 1 senior on the team! Will return 4 starters next season!!!
Kudos to coach Green on great return to coaching!!!!

Well i hate to toot my own horn but i will. I called this game as soon as i seen the bracket. I thought all season that Owsley was over hyped. But thats beside the point. Powell played one of their best games all season last night. Congrats to them. But as far as the Lee Co players being disrespectful i never seen it and i seen the Lee co players all night. But theres no love lost between Lee and Owsley so im sure that there happy that Powell won. lol

I thought Owsley played Powell last night, not Lee. There's more discussion in this thread about Owsley-Lee than the game that was actually played.

Mountain Man, Owsley wasn't overhyped this year as far as the district is concerned, and you know that as well as anyone. Get on KHSAA Scoreboard and check out the scores between all the district teams this year. There's not a hairline difference in the 4 teams. Last night's game was a game of breaks and mistakes. Owsley could have just as well won as Powell but it just wasn't on the cards.

Well, I personally thought that Owsley Co was the better team but, Powell was able to get the calls when they needed them and Owsley missed on the oppoprtunities that they had at the end. I will be interested to see how good the Owls are going to be next season!
