Prestonsburg @ Hazard 9/28

Thoughts and predictions.

Is obvious now, Prestonsburg cannot stop the run at all. However the Blackcats can score quickly and often as long as Jarrell gets time to make the plays. Hazard has a very good defense that is capable of shutting down the Blackcat offense, that is if they can keep pressure on Jarrell.

Has the potential to be a great game, but it also has the potential to turn out much like last years game, where Hazard completely dominated the Blackcats.

This is going to be a great game. Not sure if it will be high scoring but it has chances with the types of offense these two run.
P-burgs offense is way ahead of hazards right now because of the inexperienced line. I cant predict a winner just yet but will later on in the week.

A big IF game for P-burg. If their D line gets penetration. If the linebackers stay home for the counter instead of running out. If the secondary engages and keeps good coverage. Then P-burg has a good chance of winning. If not Hazard will blow them out. I hope the "Ifs" are answered. Go cats

I dont know if Hazard can blow them away but its possible for atleast 14 pts but i wouldnt say blow out. Hazards offense has struggled due to the young line and not having time to hit open recievers. P-burg is going to throw the ball quite a bit and it should test the hazard secondary just like Breathitt did. Hazard has an excellent defense and friday against breathitt was a full 4 quarters of defense. Im not sure P-burgs defense is as good as breathitts but there defense in the 2nd half against PCC was good. P-burgs defense needs to play a full game to win this one and Hazards offense has got to get clicking to win this one.

I love my Blackcats, but our defense never plays a full game! Belfry didn't punt against us, we gave up 49 to Pike Central, and Betsy Layne were well on their way to a win! We need to come out and focus on defense all week in practice. I know these boys have the potential to win this game, but it comes down to how disciplined we are on Friday! GO BLACKCATS!

This Blackcat defense is atrocious. However, when you have 6+ players playing both sides of the ball, plus throwing 4 or 5 freshman out there that don't weigh 130 lbs soaking wet, then it's going to equal to problems all around.

A lot of the problems cannot be fixed as easily as we would like to seem. But I've seen plenty of times where Blackcat defenders have over pursued on blitzes and missed tackles that they certainly could've made, but they just lacked the simple fundamentals.

Fundamentals can never be expressed enough, as cat86 eluded to in a previous thread. Those are problems that can be fixed, and if they're not, then expect an early exit in the playoffs.

Prestonsburg has no defense and Hazard does. Simple as that. Hazard wins by 2 TD's maybe more.

Hazard 34-20. This could be a big game for Ollinger.

After watching both teams play this year Hazard would appear to be the favorite. Hazard matches up very well with Prestonsburg. Hazard has a lot of athletes and a big RB which will cause the P-Burg defense a lot of problems. Defensively Hazard is much better than P-Burg and the bulldogs will be able to slow down the blackcat offense. Prestonsburg will be able to put up points but not enough to defeat Hazard at home. Hazard wins 42-28.

im pulling for hazard in a dog fight at the end. however, i think it will be a low scoring game.

Good news for Pburg:

Hazard is very suspect up front and can be overwhelmed by a good rushing offense and a stout DL.

Bad News For Pburg:

None of those descriptors fit this Blackcat team.

I would love to see Coach DeRossett come out and let Chase Ousley and Dalton Frasure run between the tackles and just try to dominate the time of possession. I'm sure that RunItUpTheGut agrees! hahaha
