Just found out that Dorton and Virgie will be playing this week at Dorton. This should be a good, no-GREAT, game.

Best Middle School rivalry in the state in my opinion...I'd love to know the outcomes of these two teams over the last 8 years or so...I'd say Virgie owns Dorton fairly easily, but it's always a great game....I'll take Virgie by 10+ though...

I think the record over the past 8 years is something like 28-3, but you're right about them being pretty close especially the past 3 or 4 years.

Who is the little small guard Dorton has? A little blond headed kid, is that the coaches son or something?

If you are talking about #3 that is Elisha Justice. He is not the coaches son.

Shouldn't it be "coach's"...

I really don't know about this one you guys...with all the varsity time that Elisha Justice has been getting..who in my opinion will start as soon as he hits 9th grade and will be the best ball handler in the 15th region...I think that Dorton could possibly pull of the big W in this game...Dorton by 3.

Virgie by 5+.

If the kid has blond hair you are probably thinking of C. Varney. He is number 15 and he is no relation to the coach. If you are thinking of the dark haired kid he is E. Justice (number 3) and he is no relation to coach either.

I watched both teams play a few games at BCI. I'll take Virgie by 10. I don't think Dorton has the size to stop them.

Virgie 57 Dorton 34 final

Virgie's size really puts Dorton at a HUGE disadvantage.
This game wasn't anything like I hoped it would be, but both teams played hard. Virgie is a very crisp team, and I found myself several times thinking how good they are at looking over the floor and things and putting it in the hole.
Dorton played very well in spurts and made several runs to try to close the gap in the score. If they would have played with that same intensity and if their shots would have been going in, then you would have had a real ball game cause Dorton can play regardless of what the final score reflects.
Congrats to Virgie on a very important win, and good luck for the rest of the season Wildcats.
