It looks like the Seventh Region Tournament will be better than the state tournament. Kentucky has a lot of weak regions.

I'd say the Eagles would love another shot at Clark at the regional. They had them beat twice and let it slip.

Cowbell, what do you think of Perry possible coming out of the 14th. AND do you see any potential upsets for teams getting to the sweet 16.

I wouldn't say KY has a lot of weak regions. I'd break them down like this:

Upper tier:

7th region
11th region'
9th region
10th region

Middle tier:

1st region
2nd region
3rd region
4th region
5th region
6th region

Lower tier:

8th region
12th region
13th region
14th region
15th region
16th region

I actually pondered that one a lot. Honestly, I could see either Perry or Knott coming out of that region, but I had to pick somebody!

If that ends up being the 14th region championship game, then that would be one to see.

There's no way the 10th region belongs in the same breath as the ridiculously tough 7th this year. Here's how I would put it:

In-their-own-galaxy tier: 7th

Strong tier: 9th, 11th

Solid tier: 2nd, 4th, 6th, 10th

Mediocre tier: 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th

No respect for the mountain regions at all.

I agree with kywldcat somewhat. The mountain regions are not as strong top-to-bottom as most of the central KY regions. But I disagree with his assertion that they are below all of the western KY regions too. I would lump the 1st, 3rd, and 5th in with the mountain regions this year.

I agree, I would take the some of the mountain regions over a few in the west. Seems like the west has been down the last few years, correct me if I'm wrong.
