HAZARD BULLDOGS!!!!!
Hazard Boysâ Golf won the KHSAA Region 11 Championship at Paintsville Country Club. Hazard shot a team score of 321 defeating 2nd place Powell County by 13 strokes. The team will compete at the KHSAA Boysâ Championship at Bowling Green Country Club. Junior Victor Jewell placed individual runner-up medalist with a score of 74. Seventh grader Hunter Hardy tied for 4th place individual with senior Blayne Hardy tied for 6th place individual. This is the third team trip to the State Championships in the past seven years including 2006 and 2003 appearances in addition to individual appearances in 2002 and 2005. This season was especially successful including a Region 14 Touchstone Energy All A Classic Team and Individual Championship followed by a 6th place team and individual finish at the All A State Championships in Richmond. The team was also undefeated against regional opponents in matches and tournaments except an early season finish behind Pikeville at their invitational tournament. The golf team has won 3 consecutive All A Region team and 4 consecutive All A Region individual titles. In the past eight years Hazard has competed in 5 KHSAA and 4 All A State Championships in team or individual capacities.
