Watching the LCA game on wazoosports http://www.wazoosports.com/football/kentucky.html

The Bobcats have a lot of work to do. On their passes, they seem to be just a second off.

pcb Wrote:After disappointing loses against Sheldon Clark, Prestonsburg, PCC, and LCA Breathitt County will finally regain their momentum to carry them throughout the rest of the season. I really believe that Breathitt has what it takes to win. It is so easy to place blame here and there, but that is uncalled for. I know the team is disgusted with themselves from watching the films on Mondays. They see what they are doing wrong and this will be the week they correct it. I do feel that Holcomb does need to change things up a bit. Other teams and the crowds knows exactly what he is going to do. The Trent kid did look good against LCA, that could be an option, Haddix is a **** of a receiver as well as a QB. Channing is a great RB no doubt, But with him signing with TN, did put him in the limelight and every team wants to shut him down. I have the upmost faith that Holcomb will figure things out. I heard the Allex kid finally got clearance from the Doctors. He is a big asset to the team. McKnight should be in good form this Friday also. He has had a sore ankle for the last several weeks. I don't have to say good luck Bobcats because this will be the week they come into their own.

Well said. I must agree.

People need to listen to the Brahma Bull. Breathitt has too much talent to not be a contender in the playoffs. It is so silly to watch some people jump off or on the band wagon's of teams just over a few wins or losses. In the end, quality is what counts and Breathitt has it.

There are a lot of posters on this thread, and the main reason is very simple. These are two mountain who over the past several years have established themselves as contenders to go play for the whole thing. This year both of them seem to be sputtering. I agree that Breathitt has some talented players and I know Johnson Central does too....but talent ain't the whole shebang. Somewhere along the line the rubber has to meet the road and it has to come out on the field. The team that doesn't get a win in this game on Friday could be in trouble for the rest of the year because it will be such a momentum killer. The finger pointing will start with fans/players/parents etc. and the team that loses will have a real hard time handling it psycologically.

If Breathitt plays like they did against LCA then they are in for a long night. I think Breathitt looked lazy in that game from what I saw on Wazoo sports, it is so easy to tell when Fugate will get the ball, he is much more serious, on other plays he just stands back there and essentially takes the play off. I know it has been stated that he has asthma, but man does he look gassed all the time, looks like he is tired/winded after every play.

Good luck to both teams the rest of the way!
Two strugging teams but Breathitt needs a badly so its time for Fugate and Haddix to step up so I will take the Bobcats.

It does appear that he is a bit lazy, but the people from UT that get paid big bucks and know what they are talking about have a better idea of what kind of talent he is and if he can make it @ that level. I am in no way putting you down for your post, just stating that UT knows what they are doing a bit more than most if not all of the posters on this site.

I have no doubt that they know what they are doing, but no one is going to tell me after watching that video that he is going 100%, he looks nothing like the explosive player I saw at Belfry last year.

Its alot easier to look good in highlight films and in camps. No one doubts he has talent. Its his heart that is in question.
Johnson Central in a close one.

Do you seriously think UT is depending on info the fans have? They get paid to evaluate talent and know when it is for real or not. UT knows this kid more than he knows himself, they would not waste a roster spot on a kid that could not cut it. You have to think also that they told him that he would be used as a fullback and they are not featured as much in that system. He was told that they would occasionally pass the ball to him also, not like the offense\defense\special teams\water boy\concessions role he plays @ Breathitt. I do have questions regarding the way he looks out there on the field, but he is the same kid that played last season and no one questioned him then. I think that Breathitt has no pressure to push themselves now because of the losses and rather risk injuries in the non-district and regular season part of the year, they are resting and keeping a bulk of their playbook under wraps. I watched the LCA game and did not see the same offensive plays being run that I saw in the Mercer game that they scored 58 points and could have scored 80.

I do not think that anyone on that team is giving it 100%, that is why I think they are resting for when it counts. Now if they lose a district game, I will take my lumps and admit I was wrong, but I look for the Bobcats to make a run in the playoffs. Do they have enough to win 3A, I dunno. The western part of the state has the better teams so far IMO, but they certainly are as good as any team I have seen in the mountains in 3A.

3A is pretty weak this year in my opinion, but the better teams in 3A besides Louisville Central come from EKY (teams like Somerset, Sheldon Clark, Belfry, and Russell). Also Mason County, the best team is 3A at this point in my opinion, is much closer to EKY than WKY. At this rate Breathitt is going to have a hard time getting to Bowling Green with the teams that I just mentioned standing in their way.

The Bobcats just need to worry about Johnson Central right now. If they are not giving 100% like you say, then they ought to. Why would they be holding back? Coach Holcomb wouldn't let one of his teams not give it their all. Just looking at his career record could tell you that. I think they are overrated for now. I can buy that Fugate isn't giving it his all, but I do not buy the whole team isn't. If Fugate is indeed not chugging with all he has, then he sure needs to. The University of Tennessee is a long way away. He needs to worry about this season right now, more importantly this game tonight.

I don't want to hear about why these non-district games don't matter either. Sure they may not count for anything come play-off time, but if the Bobcat team has the attitude that you do about these games not mattering, then they might as well hang up their season. Games like these make you a better team if you take them seriously, win or loss. They do count. Otherwise, why play them?

I think the belief that they are holding back is laughable, why would any team with any amount of pride or heart do that?? And the statement about thier district makes no sense, they play in one of the weakest districts in 3A, Powell and Estill are improving but Breathitt if as advetised should beat those teams. My only point in commenting in this thread is to say that I am shocked that with the talent Breathitt had last year and the talent coming back, that they are not atleast competing in some of these games. PCC and LCA blew them out. There is something amiss in Jacskon and I dont know what it is. I wish the Bobcats the best anytime they are not playing the Pirates.

I give up, you guys know everything and I know nothing because I do not agree with your "opinions." These threads are open discussions and it seems that if an opposing viewpoint is stated, people take it personally rather than discussing it. Kinda Childish and I am done debating with people who are obviously not able to consider others viewpoints. Go Bobcats, get your heads out of your ......... and start playing like you care.

No harm meant from here. I respect your opinion and I am stating my own by disagreeing with yours. I'm not saying your post was directed toward me, but I just wanted to say that I have no problem with your opinion/posts.
