Cavanaugh Trent
#1
So what is Cavanaugh going to do now is he staying at LCC or is he going to look for another head coaching job some other place?
#2
I heard he is going to sign a lucrative deal to play softball with the Perry Co. Merchants.
#3
Cavanaugh Trent will be an asset to any school that is LUCKY enough to have him. he is a class act and should(in my opinion) have been the leading candidate for the two jobs already filled. I can't understand why some people think an outsider is always the remedy. There are MANY good young choices right here in the mountains. Congrats to Fraley(KCC) and Hammonds(LCC) but I just don't know some of the reasoning that goes on. I just ain't figured it out.
#4
Hard to say what their reasoning is, head coaching experience, state tourney appearances, proved theirselves, who knows? I agree Trent will be a good Coach someday and somewhere, but until he proves himself elsewhere, he may not get the chance at one of these premier jobs! I have heard that all the Jenkins coaches in all sports may have been dismissed, don't know who all they are allowing to come back, but he may want to look into coaching at Jenkins if that is possible.

I know he probably wont help coach after getting slapped in the face the way he was. But I hope he stays and helps if they will let him, IMO he should have got the job he is real good with the players, I think it's a shame!!!!!! I wish him luck where ever he goes......

I wish Knott had got him because I thought he would have been able to relate to the players better. I also think he could have had just a good a chance to win the region as anybody else. I wish Coach Fraley the best but I dont see a 68 year old coming into a community where he doesnt know anyone and being able to start a program up. I just dont see the energy and commitment that Coach Trent would have shown. But Coach Fraley is the coach and I am glad it is over and I wish him the best.

Talked to him today. He has officially resigned from all sports at LCC.

 I agree, LCC lost a good coach, teacher, and person for their sports programs. Im not sure where Trent will end up but dont be suprised if he isnt the top assiant for Coach Falrey at KCC.

I might be wrong but I dont think he will go there either, they treated him the same way LCC did !!!!! I think he will go to PCC, or Hazard. GOOD LUCK TRENT!!!

I also think he might end up at Hazard or PCC.

Wow, that is hard to believe, NOT!!! I know he has a family and that is a lot of money to be giving up, but a slap in the face is hard to take too! I think he could go to Knott as an assistant for One year under Fraley and that is I'm sure what he was told, that he would take over after this year. I think deep down he knew they couldn't give him the Knott job until after this year anyways. Good luck to Coach Trent and his family where ever he ends up. Would like to see him on the sidelines somewhere though.
#14
Why couldn't they give him the job this year? If people at KCC think just bringing some old man that won state 25 years ago up there is going to win the region for them they are wrong. Coach Fraley was a good coach back in the day but so was Bob Knight so do you want him to coach UK over coach CAL. The game has changed a lot since 1980's and Coach Fraley hasn't done anything in high school basketball since then so why not give it to Cav and let him start build for the next 10 years or so?
#15
I would have done the same thing if I was him. They haven't went way too far up there. It is getting too political up there.

What if Coach Fraley puts younger assistants with him?

I heard that Anna Craft was taking Trents Green Card back and deporting him back to Mexico since he resigned as coach for all those sports. I look for Trent to be sneaking back across the border before August. He will probably end up in the Brownsville, TX area or somewhere near El Paso. Good luck Cav Sanchez Trent. We will miss you bro.
#18
AC was sucking up to him today, but it did not work. It is KCC's gain. Good luck buddy!

If I was Cavanaugh it would just be a slap in the face to me when my wifes own aunt would hire someone else over me. That is true family love there.
#20
Cavanaugh will be great wherever he goes and will get the chance he deserves one day. Good luck!!

Trent Good Luck

Don't really think she agreed on who they hired, was she even at the Press Conference when the announcement was made? I heard she wasn't very happy about it, I'm sure she wanted it to go another way. But I'm sure she will get her family in their after this year.
#23
I wonder if he is going to KCC as a assistant?
#24
I think he is getting the principals job over at Emmalena.

He deserve somewhere to go where he is happy. Was he the soccer coach also?
#27
Yes
#28
So who are they going to get?
#29
?, they don't really care.
#30
I saw him in what appeared to be a serious conversation with Happy and Al at Hazard last night wouldn't be surprised if he didn't show up there in some capacity.
