They get plenty of attention, just not the kind you're searching for with this thread. Big Grin

Didn't know referees and best will fit in the same sentence? Especially in the 58th district.
#4
If you widen your search to include the state, you may come up with a "few" good ones, but i agree with BCF4L, i didn't know best and referees would go in the same sentance.

none

MIKE Walker, Mike Hall are rated one and two:howdy:

Mike Walker, Mike Hall, & Roger Fairchild are the best in these groups.

All 3 are solid and well respected.

One of the officals from the WV crew is pretty good and could be mentioned in the group, but I can't think of his name.

The 15th has taken some hits as far as refs go with the losses of:

Jimmy Blanknship
Dale Conn
Johnny Webb
The one with the glass eye (His name has escaped me)
Shawn Hall
And many others

I don't think that there are any good refs in that region.
#9
Dale Conn was the best hands down. None of em are worth a **** anymore.

Keep this positive or it will be shut down.
The thread title is Best not who is not the best.

Officiating high school athletics is a tough job and deserves a little respect.

Well they have to earn it in order to deserve it. We are notorious for our poor officiating as a whole in this region. I'm sure there may be a good one in our region, but no names come to mind.

I would say Johnny Webb. A great fisherman also.
#13
Mike Hall and Fairchild

The officiating in the 15th region looks entirely different from that of the type of officiating you see in Big Tournaments in Central Kentucky. Our players even play differently because of it and that seems to hinder them in those types of games. I don't want to start a "hail storm", but that's just something I have noticed over the years. As far as referees are concerned, I would hate to get into that.. so how bout this, it's time for an infusion of fresh new eager faces! Perhaps some of our wonderful young men and women, who played recently in high school, but are either attending college or just graduated, might entertain the thought of "giving back" to a sport they love! If we bash bash bash all the time, who would want to be a part of that? I bet some of these refs would appreciate some help and enjoy the interest.

Depends on what the spread is most of the time?

Jeff Anderson. The old glass eyed ref. He was pretty good before he hung it up.
