Rays go with the talented high school shortstop in Tim Beckham as the number one pick if this years draft. On another note, I heard this today. There in NOT ONE PLAYER IN THE HALL OF FAME who was chosen #1 overall. Does anyone else find this amazing?

Wow, wouldn't expect that. I did see that LCA's Daniel Webb is considered the 10th best available at the end of the 1st round.

Wow that is unreal.... which that will be over soon because JR. will be in for sure and many others that are playing currently.

When the draft went off air there were 2 high school players from the bluegrass in the top 5 on the best of the rest list

Daniel Webb does not go to LCA. He goes to school at Heath. Robbie Ross goes to LCA and was taken in the 2nd round..

EKU's LHP Christian Freidrich was taken in the first round and was the #25 overall selection.

For UK , Sawyer Carrol,Scott Greene, and Colin Cowgil all go in the top 5 rounds. That makes four UK players taken in the top 5 rounds , including high schooler Ross.

With the #7 pick in the first round, the Reds take Yonder Alonso, a power-hitting 1B from Miami. Some sites have said that was a little early for him, but not by much.
