Reds SS Jeff Keppinger Injures Knee
#1
Jeff Keppinger, who has been the Reds' starter all season as shortstop, injured himself during Tuesday night's game against the Marlins when he fouled a pitch off his leg. It is being reported that he sustained a fractured kneecap.

Keppinger had been probably the Reds' most consistent hitter so far this year. Through Monday's games, he was hitting .324 with 3 HR and 21 RBI's.

In my opinion, this is a huge loss for the Reds, who still never got original starting SS Alex Gonzalez back from the DL. Now, it's anyone's guess who plays short for the foreseeable future.

Keppinger has been hitting the ball really well and is a really good player but losing him does not mean that the Reds are "done".

This is a bad loss for the Reds and a tough injury to recover from for Keppinger. But the Reds are now winners of 5 in a row so hopefully they can keep up the winning ways and do the same when Keppinger comes back into the lineup.
