This was a thread on JC basketball coaching position. It is now filled. I believe this one has run its course and a new thread should be started to discuss the new coach & his hopeful new direction.
If a new thread wants to be started to discuss anything other than that, I suggest finding the appropriate forum and letting it fly.
Again, good luck to Coach McKenzie.

You hit the nail on the head Kimball. It's funny how some of our neighbors love to talk about the Johnson County BoE but when facts are stated about there own place they either disappear or they want the thread closed. I was always told that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

From the way I read her post, she wasn't trying to disappear. She suggested closing the JC Coach thread sisne he was named and to open another thread to discuss the other matter. So state the real facts please.

Are you all talking about Billy Fraley??????

To comment on what the thread is REALLY about....the players at Central seem to be excited about Mckenzie taling the helm. That is good thing for returning players as well as new one coming in. Good Luck, Coach Mckenzie.

I think that Coach Mckenzie will do well. You know BMR was about 25 or so when he took over 500 wins ago. Coach Mckenzie is young and talented. JC has always had good players coming up, but no Coach that really cares and can relate to their players.

Have they named assistants yet?
07-25-2007, 05:35 PM
you all are gonna have a field day when the assistants are announced. I already told you all there will be some more creek jumping!
Tommy was told that two certain people would be his asst. he had no choice. However he will be keeping two from the previous staff. Also one possible shocker, current head coach of another sport at JC! I'm telling you, BGR is about to go hogwild!

For one, you definitely need to know the facts. Coach McKenzie did not take the job with any stipulations. He can choose whom ever that he feels is qualified enough to help him. Coach McKenzie will do an exceptional job with JCHS basketball program.

I hope with assistants on both Central and Paintsville's benches being from the rival schools that some of this hatred will stop.

It's OK to question the coaches and even some of theses school boards political plays but when people do it just to degrade the kids then their IDIOTS!!!!

Looks pretty good to me. I talked to DJ yesterday and he still hasn't decided if he is going to coach or not. And Craig Ratliff is still up in the air.

Eaglehoops, you are clueless. You think you are in the know, but you really don't have a clue. You probably don't even know McKenzie like you think you do. Trust me when I say, It is not a matter of whether DJ wants to coach or not, it is up to McKenzie to decide whether or not he wants him too. At this point, I don't think McKenzie has said that. Also, Craig Ratliff is not even an issue. How did he get into the mix? I say, McKenzie chooses some good assistants based on people he can trust. Administration has had nothing to do with telling him who he has to take. He doesn't have to take anyone he doesn't want. I know Coach McKenzie and his wife really well and talk to them often. JCHS administration has more confidence in McKenzie than you know!
