That would be a big loss for the rebels. He does a great job with that program. They just won their jv conference as well.

Running an offense that is similar to Haddix's would also help with getting kids out and bring exciting times to the mountains. The more I think about it, the more I think it would be a homerun hire.
After seeing this name pop up I called some of my contacts at BC and have confirmed that Matt Bottom does not have any relatives or interest in Floyd Central. The comment was made that he is a true Rebel for life.
I talked to him directly. He seems genuinely intrigued at the challenge of building another program. What he’s done with the JV group at Boyle is impressive. I just hope he doesn’t take any kids with him if he goes.
Who would leave Danville, KY at Boyle to come play at Floyd Central? I don’t care if they hire Nick Saban nobody is coming unless he has a kid on the team.

Rumor: He was at Blackcat practice last night.
He did come and speak to the team after practice.

Donnie should absolutely be apart of the hiring process if he's willing. No one knows the ins and outs of left and right beaver football more than that man.

I heard Jeremy Hall was showing strong interest

I think Jeremy Hall would rather be the principal at Floyd Central than football coach.

I could be wrong though. His name will definitely be in the mix and he'll get a call from someone about the job.

Seems like a no brainer.  He has done it before and he will do it again.  Floyd Central should do everything in there power to get him there as soon as possible.

If FC wants to remain competitive in their district then I think they'll have to look outside of Beaver Creek for their new coach. Donnie Daniels and Jeremy Hall aren't the answer to fix the issues at FC. They need a coach outside of the Beaver creek network who can get people over there fired up enough to change the culture and get them to start caring about football as much as they do basketball. Idk who that coach is, but I don't think it's Daniels or Hall. They've both tried before to get people on Beaver to care about football and they still don't. They've always got the size and the talent every year to be really good at football, they're just consistently paralyzed by apathy around the program, just like South Floyd and Allen Central always were. As a famous Floyd County philosopher once said, "Left Beaver boys can shoot, Pburg boys are fast". That's the culture.

Is the Old Regular Baptist Church where Adrian Hall used to pastor still open?

Heard from a couple of people that Curry is moving to Shelby Valley in the spring huge pick up for Tyler Johnson and the cats if it’s true

One name I've consistently heard is Trevor Hoskins, current HC at Paintsville.

Obviously no decision has been made, probably won't be for a little while anyways, but I've heard his name more than any other.

I know last season Prestonsburg couldn’t make a hire until after Feb 1, because of a Floyd County Schools policy on supplemental positions.

If they can't get Donny Daniels to take it I have a couple of suggestions:

1. Keith Smallwood. Coached many sports over the years and helped Donny coach at Wheelwright before the consolidation with McDowell. Loves football, the community and most importantly, the kids.

2. Derek Little. Man lives and breathes football and has coached in the Floyd Central program for a while. Fine role model!

Keith Smallwood won’t. Derek little you’re gotta be kidding me don’t get me wrong he loves the sports and coaches there but levi wells was our the oline. Derek is just there for his son I think they are moving after elijah graduates there going to bama. Donnie would be good. Betsy Laney coach I’ve heard for 10+ and BL fans said he is going to put in for it. He wants his son to leave BL and come here for basketball and also Football I’ve heard eli has said it too I’d love to see Jared get it he’s a winner and wants nothing but the best for his program. But his reputation will hurt him because Floyd central always wants the nice guy lol. Get a dog coach in there who wants to win and not make any friends get his players excited and nasty!!!!!

Id like to see them look outside the area, at least outside the district for the job. They need fresh, different. Hopefully they at least hire someone not from left beaver

I’d say Scottie johnson will get it and some players said if he gets it there transferring. I’d love to see BLs coach get it “ I heard that he applied for it” and turn the program around with all the talent it’s got. Hopefully Buck, Curry, and Cotton stay at Floyd Central and not leave. They’re big time players and I’ve heard rumors on Buck going to Prestonsburg  and Curry going to Valley and they are waiting on the coach to be announced

That would not surprise me at all honestly, depending on who they get. With what Hager has done with Pburgs program, kids are gonna want to be part of that..Kids there love him and they are doing really well..

If that's true about players transferring if Johnson gets it, sounds like Floyd Central continuing to let players determine the coach. May as well poll the parents before they make a hire to make sure their "babies" get a coach of their approval. If that doesn't work, do what they did to Kevin Spurlock a few years ago.

Honestly I’d say they want a fresh start? I mean can you blame them and johnson was over the defense they was giving up I’d say at least 40 a game .

I feel like they’d be stupid not to give it to jared or paintsville coach. I know Hager will have some say in it and I know he thinks jarrel is a trash. If I’m Tony Isaac I don’t care who says what I’m picking a coach who is going to win because that’s what the boys want is to win. Yes jarrell has done questionable things but who hasn’t FC can be a fresh start for him and he will keep players from leaving and I’d say bring some with him as one his son is a STUD QB.

I don't know how many remember him, but the first time Donnie stepped down at South Floyd, they brought in Nathan Jones and he was a great coach and person. I'd love to see him back in Floyd County.

I do agree, Hager's time came and went, but he did have some nice successes there. Also, I doubt Floyd County would pony up to match what he makes at Pikeville High School teaching, but Dylan Hamilton would make a great head coach.
#54
They play basketball on right beaver, whoever gets the job has their hands full with all the kids thinking they're NBA players.

The kids lacked motivation and Hager attempted to get it out of them, it was evident that majority of the kids did not care.

i would hope they give it to Scottie or Donny.

Bring daddy Hager home to Prestonsburg. Ain’t nobody gonna be knocking down the door to take over FC in football. As much money and focus as the board has paid to FC, you’d think they’d actually do something in sports. Instead they’re essentially losing everyone to free agency. In the words of Stoops, “boosters better pony up”
