Newport Central Catholic at Campbellsville. Thoughts?

This is an interesting game now. A month ago I would have said Cville by 3 or 4 scores. But now I’m thinking this one is a ball game for a good bit. Cville still comes away with the win though
Campbellsville 28
NCC 17
Campbellsville 28
NCC 17

Will there be any suspensions from the brawl that happened at the end of the Russellville/Campbellsville game? Could be a difference in the outcome

I going with NCC in a mild but not surprising upset. If NCC had a better Oline they would be a very good team

Campbellsville fans produced a lot of chatter until they played someone and then humility happened. I do think they have a fine group of young men are good enough to win this game and maybe even make a little more noise. Campbellsville by a TD.

NCC in the upset, 21-14.

Barring any important suspensions from the end of the Russellville game, Campbellsville is going to win by a couple scores.

Don’t know about suspensions but if Campbellsville is full strength I will take Campbellsville easy

New cath will win this game. They are more physical than campbellsville. Run the ball and play defense

Even if there are suspensions, I don’t think it affects this game. CVille was up big and had underclassmen in from what I saw. With that said, having watched CVille a few times this season, they’re extremely fast and talented. I think they were better upfront on both sides of the ball when they played NewCath last season. Eastridge, Watson, Kinser, etc… will be tough to bottle up. I think NewCath is more physical at the point of attack. RB1 Kaleb Cole is a hammer for the Breds and they have multiple backs (Collopy, Bevins, QB1 Miles) to change the pace up. They can wear on you with a physical OL. They’ll be different from what CVille saw last season in the fact that they can push the ball downfield and use play-action off of the run. CVille was able to load the box in the 2nd half and change the tide of the game after some big mistakes (snap over punters head inside their own 5) after the Breds were up 10 at Half. I don’t think CVille can load the box and say “Throw it. I dare you” this time around. Defensively, CVille looks very good sideline to sideline. They can be ran on in a phone booth and in between the tackles (KCD game). NewCath is sound and physical upfront with Kohler, Baas, Lyons, and Sandfoss and solid on the backend. Safeties and Backers better be on their A-game with the amount of speed and athleticism CVille brings to the table. Not to mention, the ability of Eastridge to move around, then make plays on his own. He’s great at improvising. Physicality wins this deep in the playoffs. NewCath 28-21

Raceland fans wanting NCC to win because they don't want C'ville was obviously going to happen.

They are improving year to year but I think they are still at least another year away from being able to compete with the top tier teams in 1A.

I've been wanting a Campbellsville/Raceland game. I can't really tell just how good either team is and that game would answer a lot of questions.

Plus I would rather play KCD tbh lol

This is definitely a year that upsets can happen. Similar to 2020, imo. I’m still on the fence on if that means 1A is weaker this year, or if 1A is stronger this year as a whole. Either way I think it makes things more competitive.
