May be a dumb question, and if someone can answer for me that would be great but after reading the above article, looks like it only effected class 3A, so why would it cause postponement for all other classes?

Rules always seem to do this to the kids. Kids at the end of the day are the ones who ends up getting penalized. I always see a kid having to wait on the sideline to get ruled eligible. May take weeks and not even get ruled eligible. The first thing I see is again a kid getting penalized. Just let the kids play. If they want to go to another school, then so be it. If they want to win a title and play for a built team so be it. It already happens every class and every year. Just ditch the rules and make all kids eligible immediately. If a kid wants to stay back and play and its within the age requirements of high school, other than medical reasons, then let them play. Adults are the ones who make the issues about a kid. The way I see it, the problem is not the kids, its the politics at most programs who just don't either want change or want their handpicked kids to play. So when a kid leaves because they don't approve of how the previous system of politics was ran, then they shouldn't be penalized for leaving a program. They should be able to go and play, its a sport. If sports weren't that big of a deal, then why do programs spend over millions of dollars on facilities? Now the reason I said all the above is this. Look at how many kids in West Virginia is getting penalized and losing the opportunity to play in high school and for the seniors they won't get another chance. I'll bet it has nothing to do with a kid. I haven't looked into it at all but how ridiculous to look at a entire state not playing playoffs. The stupidest thing I have ever heard honestly.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - High school football playoffs in West Virginia remain in limbo as courts litigate where to go from here.
The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals has an official request to get involved.
Officials with the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission (WVSSAC) told WSAZ’s Curtis Johnson on Tuesday that it would go to the state Supreme Court of Appeals for one answer that will fix everything.
The WVSSAC’s executive director told Johnson that his organization submitted that petition at 5:23 p.m. Wednesday in a request to overturn a court order in Wood County.
Entered Saturday, that ruling changed the playoff matchups and how many playoff points that teams received. But it also resulted in four schools that would have made the playoffs being eliminated without ever taking the field.
Two of those four schools, Point Pleasant and Tolsia, are in our area.
That takes us to local developments, with the WVSSAC asking a Mason County decision to be placed on hold. That ruling -- would require play-in games this Friday between Point Pleasant and St. Albans, as well as Capital and Hampshire.
St. Albans and Capital made the AAA playoffs due to the Wood County ruling. But the WVSSAC argues playing those games would be in violation of the Wood County order.
But, just after 5 p.m. Wednesday, sources on both sides told Johnson that talks were ongoing to move those play-in games to Saturday as a backup if the WVSSAC does not prevail at the Supreme Court.
In Wayne County, the Wayne County Board of Education is seeking a court order to get Tolsia into the playoffs. That request was filed late Wednesday morning. It asks a local judge to order a play-in game between Tolsia and St. Marys at a neutral site with no date certain.
And farther south, Wyoming County and the WVSSAC agreed Wednesday afternoon to pause its injunction request, which seeks to get Westside into the AA playoffs.
Westside’s attorney said they agreed to the pause since the school and WVSSAC want the same thing.
The WVSSAC made that ultimate request at the state Supreme Court. A court official told Johnson that the court cannot release the WVSSAC’s official petition until Thursday morning.
