Perry County Central vs Williamsburg. Thoughts?

With the way things have gone the last couple weeks for Perry I'm not sure they can recover. Think they fall to Williamsburg in this one.

This will be a good game, I think we will pull it out, something like 21-15 type game, our offense is just down so bad from last year, not enough weapons on the outside , those big plays we got last year opened up the run game for Jackson, but teams load the box on us now and dare us to throw because we don’t have the go to guy anymore. But we will end regular season 5-5 and head to Boyle..

Just curious as to why Perry is playing a 1A school in football for at the end of the season. Kudos to Williamsburg for stepping up to play the big 4A team.

This is Perry Central's lone game vs a Class A school for the season, and that's par for the course for most schedules.
Corbin has played two Class 1A school's this season (Pikeville and Hazard).
Ashland played Raceland to open the season.
5A South Laurel is playing 1A Harlan this week.
5A Harlan County played two 1A teams (Middlesboro and Hazard).
That's just off the top of my head.

Williamsburg defeated their district opponents by around 40 ppg. Not a bad team to trade senior night's with and I'm sure Dixon has a good relationship with the staff from his time at Hazard.

Yes you are correct Zaga. There’s probably not a lot of difference in the programs from a talent standpoint year after year anyway. Didn’t really think about that. I suppose 1A is about as good as 4A.

I personally see it as a good game to schedule after a brutal district schedule and just before playoffs. Not sayin Williamsburg is an win but it isn't like Perry hasn't played anyone.

Perry has had a very tuff schedule.

These teams have played the last four years except for Covid year and split those games 2-2. Figure this will be a competitive game. Good gauge to see where Williamsburg stands headed into a probable round two matchup with Hazard after running through the district pretty easily. I'll take the Jackets in a close one.

Say what you want, I really don’t care. But the fact remains, every thing I said beginning of the year has played out.. Great offensive line and great running backs, but teams load the box to stop the run because we don’t have the receiving core we had last year. It’s as simple as that. You’ve prayed all year for Perry to fall so you could say I told you that you can’t win without a certain player. I’m not even a Perry and think you’re a damn joke. As much foolishness that has went on there this year you, your son or no one could fix. Bottom line to me. Derrick fields plays great. Does a fine job. Several other receivers who are capable of getting the job done. Back you can dump it off to that can push the ball down field but they don’t have the one thing they had last year. And my whole point is. Kizer, Seth, Phoenix, all seniors, had no choice but to go. But we let a big time junior is e, Perry has to stop letting these players transfer. He would have made a huge difference

So who all did Perry have quit that didn’t play last week?

Only ones I know for sure was Landon Sullivan the big OT, and Colin Combs the RB. Not sure who the others are.
