Lawrence County 28 Rowan County 6
#1
Final.
#2
Rowan Co. continues to baffle?
#3
Congratulations to LC but with all that talent I thought this game would be worse but 1st game and it’s a long season correct mistakes and move on

I don’t see anything wrong with a 28-6 victory to begin the season. Both teams are fairly young and that showed itself at times, more so for Rowan and their mistakes and penalties throughout the game. I thought the Bulldogs defense played solid, tackled well, had some turnovers and rallied to the ball.

Rowan actually didn't play too bad the first half. Still couldn't keep up with LC's athleticism!! Lawrence has some things to grow thru but I can see them cranking things up throughout the season. Along with 25 season and 26 season, age is a factor. And I see a few kids playing both ways again. Like to see a little more depth on the bench, but you get what you get in this small town!!!

Rowan played hard the entire game, they executed better early on but their youth showed itself with penalties, miscues, motion errors, and turnovers. I thought their running back was a good looking athlete who ran hard. They had a couple big TE’s who could catch and move well.

It was a sloppy game, as first games tend to be.
Lots of penalties and lots of missed assignments.
A missed assignment gave Rowan their lone TD.
Superior talent resulted in all four of LC’s scores.
Rowan does have more bright spots than I thought they would. #3 should be their starting QB and #6 should move to a different position. Not that he was terrible, but 3 has what some call the “it” factor.
#10 should get more touches and #1 should have more of a role on offense.
If they clean up penalties, they might compete against some teams.

#1 Braxton Davis is a force to be reckoned with!! He's got some hands on him also

Luke has a dang arm on him. Landed some nice bullets down field
