Lexington Catholic at Highlands. Thoughts?

I think Lex Cath lost a lot off last year's team. i like Highlands in this one.

Highlands is a contender in 5A. They have a lot returning from what I remember. Lexington Catholic is still a tuff team every year. I do think LC is going to be young going into this season at most positions.

I think this will be a highly talented game, but the blue birds take this one 35-21. Expect both teams in week 14.

Highlands started out slow last year and took two games to get rolling. Hopefully come out strong to start the season. Two things I hope to see improve from preseason is the run defense (gave up a lot of yards to Manual) and QB play ( not impressed so far, thought Lorenzen looked best under center but does not look like he will get that chance). This Highlands team is the biggest O and D lines we have seen in a long time.

Lexington Cath will have a running clock put up on them in probably half of their schedule, including FTH. Lex Catholic is very down this season. Inexperience QB, no returning OL/ DL, lost their most productive “do all” WR, Slot, RB, DB and lost their pass catching TE. They do return a great WR #11, but someone has to thrown him the ball and that someone is going to need time and with zero protection.

Noticed in LC scrimmage that there was a lot dropped / fumbled snaps to QB and a lot of fumbles out on the field. If that is not corrected it is going to be a long night. You mentioned # 11 , he stood out in the scrimmage as well as #2.

 #2 is I believe the state 200m dash champ and 2nd in the 100m or is it the other way around. Regardless that’s faaaaaast lol.

I think HIghlands has this one, I saw the film of the NL - CC scrimmage & I wasn't that impressed
with CC, even tho they won that scrimmage. I think Highlands has the horses and can come out
in the 'W' column in this one!

Not sure which number the Nelson kid is for LC, but he won both the 100 and 200 and had the fastest time for ALL classes. Jets

Blue/White scrimmage starting QB only played 4 plays, I think it was only 4. One series for blue and one for white.

Lorenzen looks like he ad libs, but I can't be sure. Did throw a pick six. I like him at TE more than QB.

HHS is big up front but everywhere else they look small bordering on very small. However, it could be that my old man eyes are playing tricks on me because of how big they look upfront.

He is #2 this season. Multiple offers in track and field. Like you said JETS. #11 is a nice player too, just a whole LC for not have the “dawgs” like they have in the past.
